We are in a rebuilding year, and so far I am as happy with this team as I have been in years.

No reason to start calling out RR, or play calling, or the coverages......yet.

We just don't have the talent assembled yet to see it all come together. It will probably take another off season at the bare minimum to get us to .500, and two more to get us to the playoffs.

Everybody please calm down, and enjoy this for what it is. A Franchise that seems to be pointing in the right direction, and a team that is more fun to watch than any we have seen in quite some time.

P.S. Now please go resume the "sky is falling" routine.

The "stop doing stuff" threads are more annoying than what you are complaining about...

No they're not. The whining and nit picking is a helluva lot more annoying.

The losses leave a bitter taste in your mouth, but geez people are impatient. Our expectations have gone from 4 wins, to playoffs with Cam in the Pro Bowl.

While I agree some are over-reacting in their assessments in the midst of a depressing defeat, I disagree with the idea we shouldn't expect some measure of accountability. I love the players, coaches and my team. They have fought hard in EVERY game and they have performed well in many areas, but they feel my pain and I feel theirs because we share a desire to win. It's not about expecting to win every game, yet we DO resent EVERY loss. Accountability isn't a bad thing no more than loving my Panthers regardless of the outcome.

Cam Newton would take that as an insult

Fuzz, it won't take that long. We're seriously close to being a playoff contender. We get everybody back healthy next year and pick up a couple good picks or free agents, we're looking at a playoff run as early as next year. 4 losses, 22 points. That has been the difference this year. We're THAT close. To say that our best bet for next year is 8-8 is ridiculous.

Exactly, expectations have been raised and fans expect the team to win games not merely show up and be competitive. And why not. When you are leading the Saints in the fourth quarter you expect to win, plain and simple. Blowing a lead in the last 2 minutes of the game doesn't make me feel good at all. Getting mad about losing is the only way these players will develop the fire to compete from kickoff to closing and come through in the end. Don't know why the fans would take the losses any better. Perspective if for the offseason right now emotions rule the day.

I agree with XL... I am mildly amused at the antics of some on here... no one can talk them out of it. IMO there is no reason to be up in arms. Yes we have a losing record, but we're not a bad team. Once we work out the kinks, fix the stupid mistakes (players and coaches) and get a few breaks with injuries we will be a serious contender again.

Every season presents it's own challenges. Sometimes it's a really hard schedule, sometime it's the injury bug, sometimes its a roookie Q.B,sometimes it's a rookie head coach with a new Off.or Def.scheme. The Panthers have all these challenges to face this season, yet it has been the growing pains of our rookie head coach that has the team at 1 and 4, make no mistake about it, and if serious growth/maturity doesn't occur there, the Panthers will continue to struggle no matter how many of the other challenges are fixed.

I'm not so sure, but certainly could be right. I just look at the division that we play in, and the possible inability to go after "key" FA's next season (huge contracts this season) as to why it may take two years.

In our division the Saints and the Falcons both have jump on us. They are both able to concentrate on surrounding Brees and Ryan with talent on both the D and O sides. We can do that now, but are a couple of years behind.

I would sing in the street if we are a playoff team next year, but would also not be too upset if we go 8-8.

My biggest point, it seems that the ship has a rudder, I have not been so sure of that in the past.

I just don't understand the concept of being alright with blowing games. Yes, we are a young team with a young coaching staff. And yes, we have been facing a lot of set backs with injuries. But even through all that, we SHOULD have won all 4 games we lost. We didn't lose because of a lack of talent. We lost because of things that should be EASILY fixable. And we haven't fixed those problems.

I don't care how young we are or how many injuries we have. If we out-play our opponent, we should win. I am proud of what this team has done. They have exceeded my expectations. This team is so much fun to watch and we are on our way to greatness. But that does not mean I should be satisfied with the way we've been losing. Because I'm not. The way we are losing is unacceptable.

I love Ron, the rest of the staff, and the players. But we have to start finishing these games.
