It must be awful to finish with a great record, get a first round bye and home playoff game, totally poo the bed against a wildcard team, and then open up the following season in miserable fashion, with your supposed good QB playing like total poo.

Oh wait.....

I said it in another thread , if they lose Sunday they melt down on a level like we did after the AZ/Philly games.

I think after watching the Panthers defense the past several games that:

1. the offense has to put up at least 35-40 points and play flawlessly, that is a lot of

pressure on a rookie QB, a lot of pressure. Even Tom Brady can't play flawlessly

every week; particularly since every defense Cam's played against is quite different;

particularly since his only true receiver is Smith.

2. no give aways by special teams and no negative yardage....and I have to say,

I have zero faith in Mare making a game winning field goal.

3. no negative yardage with penalities.

4. the defense has to make plays and they are just not capable of it from a personnel

stand-point from what I see. They, so far, have not been capable of making that

big stop when needed. Are they getting better, yes, sometimes; but, they don't

the talent or the force of will to overcome the lack of talent. Will it come this year,

who knows, all I know is what I have seen.

Not trying be a downer; but, after 5 weeks of being overly opmistic thanks to Cam, I've

come to accept the reality which I have always known, this is a 3-5 win team at best;

they will improve next year, and by 2013, they should be quite a force if they draft well.

I'm getting old, hope I'm around to see it. Frankly, I just hope they beat the Redskins at home.

I'm sick of walking down those ramps with other teams fans celebrating.

They should he cant throw it more than 10 yards down the field

Then those 50+ yard (in the air) TD passes from last year must be CGI. Hell, his first pro pass was a 60 yd. TD.

Ryan's passing pct. is higher than Cam's, and the TD/INTs are equal. But Ryan's been sacked 14 times. He's not the reason for their problems, any more than Cam is the reason we only have 1 win.

I'm glad we can laugh this one off now, haha. Although I'd still prefer to forget it ever happened :nonod:

go back and watch his first pro pass....it was a 15 yd pass....with 45yds after the catch.

Ryan DOES have a weak arm.

Atlanta presents a lot of miss matches for our Defense. All in their favor.

We're in for another fight this week.

This. It's not about records or what the teams do against common opponents, it's about match ups. We had better get more pressure up front in this game than we did against the Saints, or it could be a long day.

we will. saints oline was just too much for our rookie dts and lack of linebacker talent. the falcons oline is much softer, more like the bears line. lets just hope this time our lbs contain the rb rather than shoot through the first hole, miss the tackle then let the back kick it outside for huge chunks of yardage.
