Team gets fined everytime they give out a ball.

How much?? I have never heard that. Jerry will get that taken care of ;)

Edit: I think the league can fine the player if they deem it necessary but not the teams. I think it is a judgement call.

Why is this an article? If it were a kid in a wheelchair or cancer or something, that'd be great. But the kid was normal as can be. Kids get foul balls all night long in every baseball stadium in America.

Because this is the kind of stuff Scott Fowler dreams to write about.

I remembering talking with a buddy of mine that plays in the NFL and he said the player gets fined if they give a ball away. I want to say it was like $500 or something? Might be wrong.

Thats so fuging dumb. Shouldn't the league be about giving back to fans. Are they really that fuging cheap?

I don't know if it's a judgement call by the NFL on a case by case basis, or if they just fine the player no matter what. I'm sure there is some review process before they just send down a fine. I mean the NFL probably gets the balls from Wilson for next to nothing. You can buy them retail for $75 in a sporting goods store, so even if the NFL or team pays $50 a ball, what's the big deal?

why hasn't anyone done this before?

oh wait....dwill did it after his TDs in '08 at home and away games. in oakland he got spit on by raider fans for trying it and after one of his TDs and in green bay a packers fan knocked the ball away from the fan.

this isn't a new thing, but it's been a while since we had a team that scored very much so the tradition went away.

it would be nice to see us do that on a regular basis, though. sure, they'll get fined, but i think there is more than enough cash around to pay it between the players.

Silence, run off elsewhere and blab ur true statements. :p

But yeah... Props goes to Shula here, yea Cams a good guy but lets not act like it was his idea. In the conference Cam even said he was about to run off when he heard Shula yellin to give the ball to a kid. Shulas doing a great job with cam on the field and seems to be teaching him a lil more than just executing plays on the field.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
