Im not saying Mare is the sole reason we lost BUT...

For so many years when Kicker was a place of consistency, even when we went 2-14, even that has been taken away from us and it is TOTALLY the Panthers fault John Kasay wasn't dressed for the Panthers today. Just like it is TOTALLY the Panthers fault that we have 2 giant gaping holes in the middle of our defensive line.

I don't care what people say, Olindo Mare has ONE job, and that's why kickers are held to a higher standard, because they have a whole week to practice ONE thing; over and over again. They didn't ask him to do anything inhumaine or crazy, they asked him to kick a 31 yard field goal in beautiful football conditions at the home stadium.

Cam was pretty adamant that he would take Mare kicking a FG to tie/win the game all day from that range and that the loss is not on Mare's shoulders alone. Tend to agree with him.

Well no, and I would not expect anyone to totally blame him. The fact is though he has been off this year and we may need to evaluate if he should be here next year. Its kinda like when Edwards takes a punt, I hold my breath that he holds on and just keeps the ball. Not hold my breath that he is going to take it back for a good gain.

well if there is a good kicker available I can understand going in that direction, but Mare has been far from bad this year. He's one of the more reliable kickers this year especially when it comes to touchbacks. We'll see how the rest of the year goes - Mare is prone to streakiness.

Reliable? Like that kick in Chicago where his panties got in the way of full leg extension thus forcing him to come up short on a 52 yarder. The only time Rivera has let him try anything beyond 45 this year because even he knows Mare is a fuging vagina. Then today, Mr. Reliable came through again. Who cares about touchbacks that's not hard to do anymore. We could have just kept Rhys Lloyd if we needed a bunch of toucbacks and at least Kasay would have made the field goal today. Oh wait, but thank god we had the extra roster spot so that we could activate Armanti(!) for some more awesome punt returns.

    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
