Stewart most elusive back in NFL

I love Stewart, we all do. He's not the most elusive back in the nfl though.....

Yards after contact plays a large role in their calculation, and how many times have we seen Stew pinball his way to an additional 3-4 years on his way to the ground?

Since it's context appropriate...

Ranked no.1 in the league by PFF, ahead of Fred Jackson, Forte, AP, etc. Can we get him some more carries Chud?

In years past DeAngelo was 1 of the top ranked most elusive, ranked higher than JStew. The stat is interesting, but not a functional stat like yards per carry average. Elusiveness does not always translate into a high YPC. You can notice that by the fact that D-Will has a higher YPC avaerage that JStew, yet only 8 more attempts rushing this year.

This is not a knock on JStew, more on the fact that there is a stat for everything & some are made just to keep more statiticians employed. ;)

Yeah, he's really elusive. Hard for the defense to hit him when he's standing on the sideline all game.

True. Why both he & D-Will do not have more yards is d/t to the scheme & focus on the passing game. We have 2 of the best RBs in the league...USE THEM! (sorry for screaming)

    • Dante Moore is the top pick in a couple of mock drafts now.
    • Yeah I am sure you are right. Every week it seems there is something whacky in those numbers they post. I like my simple eyeball test, been watching over 60;years. I know when someone loses or wins a matchup or performs above or sucks.  When WR and QB aren’t in sync, I can’t know who was suppose to do what all the time and don’t try to say. Defensive coverages blown, I don’t always know that either.. so I am imperfect.  I think PFF is too. No big deal. It’s fun looking at the grades anyway.
    • The secret with PFF is they are specifically opaque because they traded in their once good reputation to poo out next day madden grades for monday morning desk warriors who want something to click on. It takes NFL teams about 36 hours to fully grade every play from their own team, and those are the coaches who know what all of the play calls are, who all of the players are, are professionals at their jobs, and have a staff of interns helping them do it.  I know people that do this for PFF. There are some people that are smart and good and know what they're talking about, but they're rare. And even in the case of people that have football experience, they don't know the plays. They have an idea of the plays. This is to say nothing about the idiots who played one year of JV ball and never saw the field and can't get over it. That's what the most of PFF is.  These grades are completely worthless.
