If Yates can show a glimmer of hope they would probably stick with him. Jake is the type that could probably move right in and do the "serviceable" role in a pinch. They have playoffs on the line. Yates will have the role until Jake is fully briefed on the offense and gets some practice in. After that, Yates will be on the short leash.

Some Panther fans are really ignorant when it comes to Delhomme. We tend to forget he had more GOOD games than BAD. Not to mention that ONE BIG game where "he lost us our superbowl run" against the Cardinals, was mainly because jumbotron davidson stopped running the damn ball when we ran it down their throats the first drive. Jake was the man, and was great for most of his years here. He had 2 different #1 receivers in the league during that time. Took us to a super bowl (in the great year of my life for sports), 3 NFC championships I believe, and always kept us in the game. He probably won't be a Cam newton, but Jake loved the game more than anyone I have ever seen, he was a competitor, and he took the blame when the blame was due. Find me a classier player, I bet you can't.

I'm pullin' hard for Yates here. I think he has the brains and skill. We will see.

I am not saying you didn't, but most UNC fans despised Yates when he was there. I always thought he was under appreciated at Carolina, fans always looking for next best thing.

I hate Carolina, but for some reason I hope he does well.

With that said, I would also love to see Jake go on a playoff run with the Texans and beat the Steelers or some other asshole team.

Yates had an interesting career there or sure. I was always a supporter. I did not like the idea of benching Sexton who was doing pretty good when Yates was supposedly recovered from an injury (shoulder I think). There were a lot of people who think Yates was a product of fantastic athletes (Tate and Nicks). The next best thing, Renner, was a desire of lots of people, not me.

Think about the instability at running back during his career, not to mention coaches and teammates. I like him. I did from the start and I think he can be at the least a solid backup in the NFL.

ETA:

nobody gives a sh-t about anything at NCSTATE
