One more Newton/Panther trolling remark laid to rest

Don't forget the whole "He has more INT's than TD's" argument.

And the most beloved argument, the team wins when he doesn't get Ints. Forget the fact that the team has been winning when the defense actually do their job and hold off the opposing team's offense. But, to get to that reality means they have to look past Cam.

Using that "haven't beat a good QB" argument is questionable yesterday, Yates had two come from behind victories in his last two starts. I was expecting it to happen once again -- especially once Foster started rolling -- but the defense made the critical stops. Props to Cam for that drive leading to that fourth touchdown, starting to look like he's not afraid to get in veteran's faces now

at least cam did good against a top 5 d though, offense really clicked. cant reallly judge the d because matt and andre was out.

Must give credit where it is due...The Panthers offense went up against different levels of defense this season so far and was really in-effective in one game where they only scored 3 points.

Yesterday was, in my mind, a sign that the offense is really connecting. Almost like the Patriots offense, where Tom can throw to any one who is open and get some yardage out of them. The fact that Cam can trust other offensive players outside of Smitty says a lot.

The Kansas City knocked off the number offensive team in the league and the Panthers knocked off the number one defensive team.

Their leading WR had 26 yards. Johnson being on the field makes a huge difference. That's like saying we are the same team without Smith.

QB is still the ultimate factor.....Johnson isn't the same WR with Yates on the field and the run game takes a hit.

look at Smiity last year in games with Clausen vs Moore.

To be fair, once does not constitute ability.. consistancy does. I'm saying this as a fan of this kid. I like Cam, and I believe he can be the guy for us for years, but to say it's busted is a bit premature.

One thing that really worried me about yesterday, that I still believe needs working on: Only one 1st down in the entire third quarter. We need to figure out how to get the offense to click after the halftime break. I hope an offseason of conditioning and practice will right that ship, because we really do have a young team here. I honestly feel it will get better over time.

One thing I took from reading NFL.com that I was very happy with (besides the score and the W) is Cam acknowledging that he understands how important it is to protect the ball, and to not put his defense in a bad spot with turnovers. He's getting it, which to me means he is progressing as a rookie passer in the toughest sport out there. I'm very hopeful, and Cam is backing it up, which we should all be happy about!

Yesterday just showed, IMO, what this team is going to be like when we get a decent defense game in and game out.

It also showed me what I always knew about Cam. Everyone talks about The Golden Calf of Bristol being a "winner." Cam is as well. Sure one championship was at JuCo and the other one was when he backed up The Golden Calf of Bristol, but he won 3 college championships.

Cam knows what it takes to win games and ive said all along, hes a clutch QB and will eventually show it game in and game out.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
