NFLN Proclaims Newton The Greatest Rookie Ever

Oh yeah bases on what i've seen he could be blessed with greatness. but i don't live in the future i live in the now.

What has he done in "the now" that leaves doubt? He's been improving all season along with his teammates and he just had the best game of his career.

You're just being skeptical for the hell of it. You either like playing devil's advocate or you just don't like Cam Newton. He's deserving of high praise as is the entire team.

As i said before and on many occasions i want the Panthers to win. Cam has had a wonderful season stats wise and deserves praise for it. I wouldn't have posted here but for the fact that my name was called up. Dalton was my favorite QB in the draft (I'm not saying the Panthers should have drafted him with the 1st pick) and to see him doing so well does my heart warm. He's a great kid and beating the Ravens is a tall task but i was right about his skills and leadership and i hope for nothing but the best.

that's fine and all.. I'm listening to Skip Baylis come from the same place.. you thought Dalton would be a solid QB, you were right, so you want to hold that accuracy above other examples..

Cam still wins ROY hands down..

DicksRScrumptious likes to channel his Newton hate by the stats of other QB's, since of course all the pre-draft hate is completely debunked. Now the stats are so god awfully lopsided to Cam's favor it's time to pull the "oh such and such is going to the playoffs" card.

GTFO you butt-hurt Bitch. Nobody cares about the Redskins here.

Nobody is butt hurt here son. Come this weekend i'll watch my guy Dalton play his way into the playoffs (if he can) against one of the best defenses in football. Andy has had an amazing season both in stats and wins. While your boy Cam will be playing for.....what exactly? Maybe next year.

- Tom Brady: 5,006 yards of total offense, 39 total touchdowns, 13 total turnovers

- Drew Brees: 4,872 yards of total offense, 38 total touchdowns, 12 total turnovers

- Cam Newton: 4,567 yards of total offense, 34 total touchdowns, 16 total turnovers

- Andy Dalton: 3301 yards of total offense, 21 total touchdowns, 15 total turnovers

1 is more like the other 2.. the other one is named Andy Dalton.. by win of unanimous votes: Cameron Newton easily wins ROY.

I've heard and read every Luck hype from those on ESPN and NFLN and PFT, a site backed by NBC Sports.

hype is not the same as saying "best rookie QB ever." Those sites are saying he is one of the best prospects ever. You'll notice some of those articles, even one by ESPN's Mel Kiper, also notes people like Andre Ware and Ryan Leaf among his "best prospects ever." Because they are prospects, and there is still time for them to fail or succeed.

Everything points to Luck having a shot at a good career but until he proves it on the field, nothing is certain. Just because ESPN is enthralled with him as a prospect doesn't mean they think he is undoubtedly going to blow away Cam or something.

Not really debating what you said, but just adding some footnotes.

I think its quite fitting for one of the greatest college prospects having to be the encore or the punchline of what most are now considering the greatest rookie season ever. Especially given the history of the Panthers and the pursuit of Luck.

    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
    • Looks like Darnold should have had at least 3 picks. That'll get ugly in the playoffs eventually. Can't deny his physical talent though. You either have that or you don't. Mike Macdonald is a legit coach.
