Yes I know Philly's favored to get him, but I'd love to see the Panthers at least try to get him. Sean's OK but nothing special. Spags is one of the NFL's great defensive minds that could do with our defense (with a good draft and a FA or two) what Wade Phillips did in Houston, all while keeping a 4-3.

Great coordinators don't grow on trees. Let's see a push to see Steve come to Charlotte.

We're a team on the rise that went from 2-14 to 6-10 or 7-9. The defense has been improving as of late even as they've had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for talent. I want as much continuity in the coaching staff as possible and I want them all to return next year no matter which coordinator becomes available.

Seans O K

How do you evaluate a New DC

On a New coaching staff

With No OTC

Several injuries and IR's

Starting Rookie DT's

Would be nice to see what

a full offseason of film

Healthy Players

OTC

Players that are now accustomed to the new skeems

Sean might be better than O K

pretty much.

you don't cut bait on a new coordinator bringing in a new scheme under these much less than ideal and normal circumstances.

give it a year or two. mcD was chosen for a reason...his defense is in line with what rivera has been doing or trying to do his whole coaching career.

Keep Mcdermott, none of this grass is greener poo.

He's done a great job especially when his LB corp is 2nd tier at best.

The D Line and the production he's gotten out of them especially once we stopped trying to force feed 2 rook DTs into service for the sake of experience has been good as well.

Gamble is doing his thing, using his talents to advantage, Captain just is not starter quality talent.

Healthy LBs, (Beason), more experience on the D line and an upgrade in the secondary and McDermott will have this defense kicking ass next year.

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
