Davis you would be correct but BEASON?

This is the first time he has ever been on IR or missed a game for that matter, your a jackoff.

Achilles tears are nasty, bro. He'll come back and he'll start. But it'll take a miracle and a lot of luck for him to return to Pro Bowl form.

After Thomas Davis and Dan Morgan, how anyone can expect the Panthers medical staff to put anyone back on the field in the form they were in before they left it, is beyond me.

This is one, I'll believe when I see it, but I wouldn't be mad at the Panthers if they drafted a stud LB who could play middle or outside. Connor is a good back up, but that's all he'll ever be after getting run all over today by Saints backs that aren't as good as they were made to look.

I'm just being honest guys. We're gnna need a elite D to be dominate in our division. We keep talkin about our DTs but I think the whole Defense is a prob. I just dnt kno how much our D will improve wit Beason and TD coming back off of career changing injuries. I also believe we need to start from scratch.

Get Bill Cowher to do defense. Trade for Jared Allen, Suh, and Willis.

OMGZIES MADDEN.

It's not that easy, people. FS, CB, DT and depth elsewhere is where the needs are. Hardy is good enough to play and continue to develop while the front office takes care of more pressing needs.

People rag on Hardy like he was supposed to be a huge big time player. We get a decent starter out of a 6th round pick, that's HUGE. I'm just glad us here on the forums don't run the franchise...it wouldn't be able to compete with a Pee Wee practice squad.

way to keep this in perspective..

we have to do something about Martin, he's horrible.

Hogan will be starting next year.

Hardy just finished up his 2nd year, maybe we can draft a guy who will have to travel the same road and then rinse/repeat every other year because armchair GMs would if they were in control..

We could definitely use a FA DT if somehow that turns out to be possible. It may not.

We are missing a HUGE piece, and it was beyond evident today: Jon Beason, the defensive QB.

TD's coverage skills along with Beason are a HUGE missing piece. if you can't understand how that is possible, you need educated before you form ignorant opinions.. especially when you just saw how horrible Senn and Connor are in coverage.. Anderson isn't that great either.

Well next season we'll c. Since I'm ur student and ur educating me. The way I'm seeing it we need Safety, Cornerback, LB, DT, and a DE wouldn't hurt either. But since TD and Beason can fill all those position then I guess our Defensive problems r sumthin of the past. Can't wait to see this elite Defense next yr.

I really hope we have a chance to trade down and pick up a high second rounder this draft. I'd go LB, S, and CB with our first three picks. Love Davis, but if he can't go, I don't want scrubs in there again next year. If he is ok to go, then the draftee might be an upgrade over Anderson, which imo, is needed.

Safety? Sorry, I was griping about the wrong safety.. Godfrey actually has improved, but Martin looks lost in coverage, and this is not knee-jerk from today. He's been picked on all year long for a reason... I would love for us to pick up a STUD at Safety. I can't remember the last time we had one of those.

CB - I'm hoping Hogan or one of the other guys can come in and be a force on the other side of Gamble, but I'm not betting my shorts on it.Would it be great? Sure! Do I still think we need to find someone for CB #2? Absolutely.. Captain is not the answer there.

If Defense doesn't improve this next season, I'm not happy about McDermott (never have been to be honest), and I'm hoping he goes the way of the dodo and we get someone who actually knows how to gameplan a defense in here. It's almost shocking, knowing RR is a defensive minded coach, as to how bad ours actually is. Injuries play a huge factor, but somewhere, somehow, someone had to have stepped up and learned how to get the basics down... wrapping up isn't an option guys. Coach, please teach them how to do that? Thanks!

yeah even with Beason that achilles tear didn't come out of nowhere. it was bothering him for awhile, the medical staff worked with him and monitored it closely until they decided he was well enough to play

then he goes out and almost immediately tears it. good job guys. how these people still have jobs is a complete mystery to me

If any student of mine couldn't take the time to type the two extra letters in the words "see", "are", "year", and "your" (not to mention the travesty that was your attempt to type "something" and the omission of the single apostrophe in "we'll") and used the same combination of letters to represent "your" and "you're" I'd fail him on principle.

Guest Day24Day7

I don't know what to say. It's just hard to believe that an NFL Head Coach who p-l-a-y-e-d Linebacker IN the NFL and has been a defensive coordinator, himself, could have a secondary this bad. Injuries or not this is the NFL. Green Bay won a Superbowl (including 3 playoff games on the road) with the "Walking Wounded". I'm not talking about the results of the games ... I'm talking about the Effort. If you've got to lose ... At Least Put Up a Fight!

Maybe a full off season with Coach Ron will make all the difference. That ... and some healthy starters with the addition of a few quality (not afraid to Tackle) free agents and rookies. There are a few bright spots on this defense. The problem is that most of these guys are Very Good Back-Ups/Role & Situation Players.

The biggest let down for this team is Mental. Defenses have to be really Tough/Hard Hitting or Really Fast w/Gang Tackling. Either way the Mental Toughness has to be there. The loss of Davis and Beason (on the Field) really cost this defense. Those guys were Hard Hitting, Move Ya A$$, Make Em Feel Type Players. Even if we had only lost 1 or the other this defense would have been better. They would have gotten in guys' faces and lit a fire under their A$$ when needed. I really believe those 2 guys would have made the biggest difference (Beason even more than Davis because he's played full seasons).

    • Glass houses and all. I find the people who are the most adamant about this type of thing tend to have the most to hide. Careful buddy.
    • Also, wanted to point out, all 3 of the Pivot guys I respect and appreciate tremendously.  I know RC only had 1 pro bowl, but I loved his game.  He was tough as nails and played with a ton of heart and grit.  He was trying to knock people out, but was also super cerebral.  Fred is obviously a hall of famer and just as tough. Channing made the most of what he had and was hard-nosed as well.  And yet, all three of them let Steve slide on a ton of poo in this interview.  They actually cowered in several moments and I don’t like that at all.  Because for all the things I mentioned in my initial post in this thread, them not trying to reel him back in or hold his feet to the fire on certain bullshit, and feels gross.  Yall were all on the same competitive level as athletes, and yet, yall just let him skate on poo like talking about invoking using a gun on someone, laughing off how he essentially ended two teammates’ careers by BULLYING them and then co-signing it, and letting him completely sidestep accountability about his affair.  I get it, because apparently he invited you to his home to do the interview, but either talk some real poo or don’t do the interview at all.  This was some real softball poo.
    • This season’s leader, Daniel Jones, is averaging 265.9 yards per game, that would rank 12th in 2015. Even going back to 2020, he would rank 10th in passing yards. So it does appear that passing yards is down, but is that because they aren’t as good? Possibly, but we were spoilt in recent years when we had Brady, Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Ryan, Stafford (etc). As crops of QBs go, it was an amazing era to watch and most will end up in the Hall of Fame. I’m not convinced you we could list as many potential Hall of Fame QBs from the current crop. Will it go pass heavy again? I think there’s a good chance that it will, but it will require QBs that can consistently air the ball out in the frequency we saw in the 00s and 10s. I think currently coaches are favouring a more balanced approach, if not favouring a strong running game.
