Julio Jones was worth it.

I have never lol'd harder at falcons life than I did today.

It's doom and gloom over there and as Philly said, buyers remorse is settling in because of what was given up. I firmly believe it just hit the falcons fan base that they don't have a 1st rd pick. We know that slippery slope well too and it can come back to bite you big time.

They should have traded up to around the 10 or 11 spot to take Robert Quinn (or maybe even Fairley). Even though neither of those two have done much yet, I think they would have been a bigger help to the team as a whole than Jones. DE is what they needed, not another WR. And they would have had to given up considerably less probably.

i just read the implosions on falcons boards... classic

to their credit, the vast majority of non-homer falcons fans like julio jones but think it was an absolute waste to spend what they did to get him.

seriously, I mean as Panther fans we all know that feel of not having a 1st rounder or how making an absurd "all in" type move can lead to the downfall of a current team, and I think it's just starting to hit Falcons fans.

Ryan is not Delhomme, and I doubt they collapse like we did, but that team is a mess and there aren't a lot of options for a quick fix.

2012 NFCS:

1) Saints

2) Panthers

3) Falcons

4) Buccaneers

People know I'm a Panthers fan, even my internet network is named PANTHERS. I've fortified my apartment, stored water and food for a week and am currently in the corner of my apartment with a shotgun aimed at the door... any minute, all hell will break loose. Atlanta is burning down to the ground, again.

Atlanta's mighty offense couldn't get on the board!! HILARIOUS! The only guy who could score for Atlanta was Eli Manning.

fixed

easy to say that was part of the problem but that problem has yet to be fixed. having no pass rush didn't help at all. 6'2" db's cannot cover their guys when a QB has all day to pick and pop. JPP and Tuck, etc. pressured Matthew Ice and that was the difference IMO. with the rules in the NFL there is no such thing as a true shutdown corner. Defense starts and ends with QB pressure and containment. Add a dome and some turf and two big fast receivers and that statement only gains validity

when you have a turf team with an accurate QB and a great back who moves the chains and one great receiver, a big play for JJ can be justified. For their situation, not ours mind you, but for their situation JJ still looks good as long as the Panthers and the Bucs cannot get a push with the front 3 or 4 and don't blitz.

small db's or not, he worked us over.
