Amazing Chris Gamble Stats

Recommended Posts

@ProFootballFocus says #Panthers CB Chris Gamble allowed a catch every 18.1 snaps in coverage, 2nd-best in NFL behind N. Asomugha (18.4) ... opposing QBs had 53.3 passer rating vs. #Panthers Chris Gamble in 2011. Only D. Revis (45.6) & A. Samuel (52.4) better

I got this from CatScratch, and thought I would share.

I thought this was an amazing stat and really indicated how well Gamble played this year.

It would be nice to sure up the other corner position and the free safety position so the Panthers can compete with and contain teams like Green Bay and New Orleans. I am tired of giving up 350 passing yards a game on one side of the field. LOL!

He should have gotten All Pro and Pro Bowl, there wasn't a better NFC CB in the league this year. The only reason he isn't noticed, is he doesn't get a lot of interceptions.

I feel that if Gamble was playing with the Giants and their pass rush then he would have led every stat, plus a few more int's. That said, we need to get a formidable pass rush. Believe that RR has to go to bat for Garay and for Hurney to pursue him. I see us drafting a DE and S in first two rds. Those that are pulling for a CB........Hogan will prolly be the number 2 corner next yr. I see us grabbing Barron and moving Godfrey back to FS.

    • For a 3rd year QB? That flies with the Teppers and makes the HC and GM look like fools.  Their fear is evident. Their careers are tied to making it work, it's ehy they signed on here and they are professionals who knows what kind of a situation they could potentially have on their hands if they are not calculating about popping up Bryce. I call BS to that sir. It's why every QB after Bryce couldn't make any other rosters past a PS spot...at best
    • Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.
    • Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
