You brought up offense, I brought up defense.

If you want to get position specific, we could possibly generate a stronger pass rush if we end up with Brockers/Poe and pump up the secondary with a Minnifield/Hosley/Jenkins/Hawyward with our 2nd pick. Its called building a defense.

Look at what H-town did last year. They went out and got Joseph in the FA plus drafted JJ Watt, Brooks Reid, Brandon Harris, & Rashard Carmichael...all defense

I mentioned Kirkpatrick because people like saying he's our pick. With the inference of not drafting him, it would mean we went somewhere else...like d-line ;) It was all relative to who you think we're getting in round 2. I'm saying it makes sense to get a CB in the 2nd if we don't get Kirkpatrick

I am the number one supporter of building up the defense this year! I made this prediction based on RR's remarks about needing a scat back! So, I went and looked and found nothing really worth being called a scat back other than James! In turn I started this thread for discussion! I don't want to see us wasting a potential defensive pick on a true scat back, but if it did happen I am also predicting a server crash. I would love to have a thread discussing our true needs broke down by position. Imo, CB is not high on the needs list and I'm curious why so any people think it is!

Rivera saying we need a scat back probably means we'll get one...I just don't see it happening in Round 2 and its wayy early to make a player specific predictions for our second pick when we don't even know what's gonna happen in Round 1

Gonna be really interesting to see how RR deals with this defense. Truth be known, us fans are probably making the defense out to be worse than what it is. Bet RR sits back and laughs at the popular comments made by the fans! We love Hardy, he may think Hardy is no. 3 or 4 DE at best. He may know that Fua is gonna be a beast at DT once he gets him trained whereas us fans are ready to cut Fua. Lol, this offseason is gonna be really interesting! Last person I want to be is Hurney!

This is a deep defensive class. We can get a first round grade defensive guy with our second round pick. Have to improve the defense.

This is one thing Rivera has said that makes no fugin sense. We already have too many mouths to feed in the back field. If we get a "scat" back I hate that dumb ass term btw. It means Williams is getting cut after this year and I think thats a bad idea. Williams,Stewart, and Newton command enough carries that is not a need, sorry Ron.

Carolina needs talent on defense!

Only offensive players I'd consider in the 2nd are Kendall Wright or Alshon Jeffery if he fell. Otherwise I think we should go Upshaw or Kirkpatrick in the 1st and Dontari Poe or a LB that falls in the 2nd. James would be a luxury for a team with needs in several other areas.

I disagree that we end up getting rid of Stewart/Dwill just cause we draft James! James just becomes our third back but he would be utilized well! He just adds an entirely new dimension to our offense and special teams. Kid is a playmaker!
