first off Jake Delhomme was lights out in the game versus the Patriots and lack of offense was not why we lost that game so lets end that there.

And while Cam by the end of his career will most likely end up passing Jake as the Panthers all time best QB he hasn't yet. I am all for Cam being the best QB he can be but I am really getting tired of everyone who wants to crown his ass before he's done anything, outside of breaking a bunch of rookie records this year Cam has done nothing, could we at least wait till he does something before we layer on the praise? please?

I was a fan of the Panthers before Jake, before Smith and long before Cam and I will be afterwards, with some of the people on here with the Cam love going around I wonder if they will do the same or if they are just a fan of a player and not the team?

Smith didn't completely make Jake, so I don't want to hear that. No he won't get a statue, or number retired, but I'm tired of people faulting him. Jake was more so the perfect compliment to Smith's abilities. People tend to forget that Jake had the #1 WR in the league TWICE with TWO different players. Smith one year, and Moose one year. It is worth pointing out that Jake's BEST statistical season was WITHOUT Smith the entire year. Are you trying to tell me that Moose also made Jake? He sure didn't make anyone when he went to Chicago. There are also very few QB's I'd take in the 4th quarter at the end of the game over a Jake in his prime.

He's just a QB people. He set no records and won no Superbowls. you need to do stuff like that for Jerseys and Statues.

As a fan base we REALLY need to up our standards.

If we had statues of every player fans liked from here on to the foreseeable future, there would be no more parking space.

Why not just put his name in the Ring of Honor? Don't have to retire his number, give him a statue, or anything like that.

Just let him have a press conference retiring as a Panther, put his name in the Ring of Honor, and move on.

Let Jake retire here. He deserves it. I feel like after the superbowl year Jake never had a decent team to compliment him. Hurney i feel should take the blame for alot of jakes failures. Once a panther always a panther.

From 2003-2009 I cant find one year where Jake came within 1000yds of what Cam did this year. Likewise I cant find a defense to come with 1000 yds of how pathetic ours was this year.

Jake was a product of good defense and a solid running game. He was a game manager not a game changer. Just like The Golden Calf of Bristol. He was a product of a solid D and a solid running game (The Golden Calf of Bristol is worse than Jake). We remember Jake for his charisma and comebacks, but fail to see his comebacks are a product of Fox ball(just like The Golden Calf of Bristol)

He has a career QB rating of 80, and he deserves to have his jersey retired?

Cam is the best QB to ever put on a Panther jersey, and how one could argue, I understand. He was a great guy, and our longest tenured qb to date.

Yeah.....um.....Delhomme had more 4th Q comebacks in 2003 than any QB in NFL history has in a single season.

Also, our D and running game were not top 5.

No 1-day contracts. No retired jerseys or statues. Nothing against Delhomme on the contract thing, but I don't like the lack of professionalism. And you need to be a one-in-a-million contribution to an organization, on and off the field, in order to have either of the latter honors. Delhomme was not.

Lesser players to this organization have signed one day contracts to retire here.....

Delhomme is a Panther. He should retire as one.
