DP. This is one of only 2 films I own. The other is One flew over the cuckoo's nest.

There is just so much to get into with Kane. To me it's not the story as much as how ground breaking the film was shot. The lighting, or lack of lighting, angles, pace, close ups, fades, cuts and all kinds of tricks that are so common today we just assume thats the way movies have always been made.

For the sake of not being struck by lightning, I will refrain from saying who should be cast and who should be directed.

I watched half of Kane in film class in highschool and skipped the 2nd half. For some reason I'm just not interested and I don't know why. The only two films that stick out in my mind during the "classics" part of the class were The Cabinet of Dr. Caligiri and The Bicycle Thief.

that's why it is always best to see a film either on a whim or stumble upon it. too many preconcieved notions or hype and the film never delivers.

at the same time, some of the best classic films should be seen on a big screen and i bet peoples take are totally dif than watching on tv at home with the pause button.

"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" is one of my favorite films. I think it especially resonates with me because I've had family members who were mentally ill.
