One of those is an NFL journeyman and the other two had disappointing rookie seasons.

I hope Rivera is blowing smoke up everyone's ass or we're in trouble.

Journeyman? His first two years were spent with two team, five years each. Not to mention in our scheme the LB's were just as much to blame as the DL for not stopping the run. The other DT's actually looked good. Neblet was constantly in the backfield, Kearse and Shirley were immovable and the other guy with the name was ok.

I don't see Rivera as a blowing smoke kind of guy.

I'm just saying if we can get a rookie that will produce like Marcell Dareus did with the 8/9th pick why is that so bad? Sounds like a good deal to me considering Marcell was chosen with the 3rd overall pick.

Offense Rank 7: Passing rank 13, Rushing rank 3

Defense Rank 27: Passing rank 24, Rushing rank 25

Team needs:

Cam Newton has taken the league by storm and has single handily brought the Panther back from the dead. Carolina has several pressing needs on defense and will need to give their dynamic QB some weapons at the wide receiver spot as Steve Smith had an amazing year last year but he is getting up there in age. Brandon LaFell is a decent started but is does not have the speed and size to be a future number one receiver.

7th ranked offense in the league. actually 4th in scoring, i believe.

then they just gloss over how bad the defense is...bottom of the league...and say what we need is a better offense.

these same morons were looking at this team being the worst offense in the league and our QB being jimmy frikkin clausen and saying that we need to be drafting someone like dareus or peterson. tell me how in the world that makes sense?

yeah...i'm not going to be clicking the link in the OP because i can't imagine it being any better than the junk i just saw.

you want to make a mock draft worth a crap? start paying real attention to what people who actually follow the team thinks the team needs or at least do something more than half assed research or looking at some joke sight like fantasy football toolbox to see what the team needs are.

Fact of the matter is, we could take a DT and develop him but the chances of an instant impact are slim to none. I like Still, but his injury history is a concern.

However, we can address a bigger need with someone who will likely have a quicker and easier transition to the pro ranks, like CB, OLB.

As much as it pains me to say it...if we were going to go DT we should go for Brandon Thompson from Clemson. Not a great pass rusher but a solid run defender. He likely could be had in the 2nd round, a good value and still allows for us to address another need in the 1st.
