What the hell is Goodell thinking?

He told Costas that the NFL is trying really hard to get a team in LA and that he doesn't want to move any teams. He wants to expand the league to 34 teams.

How the hell will that work? Two conferences with 17 teams with 2 divisions consisting of 8 teams for 1 divison and 9 for the other? Or keep the current alignment and have 1 division in each conference with an odd number of teams?

I hate Goodell.

With 30 you could have 15 teams in each conference with 5 teams in 3 divisions. That works. The current alignment works.

34 is too much. you would have 2 conferences with 17 teams each. How will that work?

they've made it work when they had 31 (the years between Browns 2.0 and Texans) so they probably figured out something for 34 and 33 if need be

when there were 28 teams, the 5th place teams played a home and road game against the other 5th place team in their conference, played 1 game against the 5th place teams in the other conference, and also played 1 game against all teams in the 4 team division in their conference.

Actually the NFL.com article mentioned two L.A. teams, which I would be appalled by since I think there are other cities more deserving.
