is a freaking beast! After watching some tape, he may be my favorite DT in the draft. He has a well rounded game and there's always something that you like about him, even on his bad plays. He plays the run well and he's a decent pass rusher too imo. I'm not sure here he got the lazy tag from, he looks pretty good from the film I've seen. Call me a fan.

I really wouldn't mind if this team went DT in the first two rounds. Brockers followed by a Poe, Worthy, Taamu, Cox in the second. It wouldn't be what I'd do, simply because of all the second round talent in the Secondary, but I wouldn't be disappointed by it. It's time for this team to stop screwing at the DT position.

We haven't had a quality DT in probably five years. Not since Jenkins left. No more aging average players. No more stop gap "solutions." No more mid to late round developmental players. It's time to make the move for an elite player to anchor this D. I'm sick of watching our LBs get slaughtered. I'm sick of teams deciding to run up the gut at will.

Get an elite talent in the middle. Whatever it takes.

Getting DT's in the first two rounds would be pretty awesome. Brockers and Ta'amu would be my choice.

totally agreed. and, like i said before, it's not me giving up on mcclain and fua, it's 1) wanting to have a dominant presence in the middle and 2) not being content with a "gosh, i hope they work out" attitude towards a couple 3rd round picks.

i like worthy, just not in the first round. same with cox. i like brockers and to a lesser extent, still in the first. i like poe as well. i have him ahead of cox and worthy.

I like this idea of sticking with d-line. I wouldn't mind looking for a type that can go in at DT/DE (depending on our sets) with one of those picks. Additionally, the hybrid LB/DE type works in our scheme as well. Overall, I think we have a solid group of players to consider this year and that's why its been difficult to sort out so far imo.

I put Cox in his own bubble because he can be a beast in a 3-4. He's my favorite DT prospect by far but I gotta admit not as well suited for us as a Brockers or Still. If Worthy, Curry, or a strong d-line talent makes it to us in the second, it could be a nice scenario.

I'd be down with Brockers-Worthy-Trumaine Johnson type draft.

I'm just ready for some quality new defensive talent. Given who's available, we can nab a FS or WLB in the FA that would be upgrades and focus on building a d from the trenches through these picks. On the other hand I'm still open to a CB in the first.

im also leaning towards the DE/DT picks in the 1st two rounds. any combo of Coples, Brockers, Still, Worthy, Mercilus, Curry, Tammu, Cox, Poe, Jones would make me happy.

Agreed. After watching both SB teams make it with very marginal DB's, getting pressure with the Front 4 is ABSOLUTELY the way to go.

    • I am really sorry  that  happened to you they say to never meet your sports heroes i have friends who met  mickey mantle when they were young and he was a belligerent alcoholic at the time  ut broke their hearts  I had the opportunity to meet and spend  time with Cam Newton.     He was the polar opposite of Steve Smith and his public image.   Polite.  Honest when asked question.  You could tell the things that mattered to him and the things that  didnt. The disappointments in himself and the things that hurt him  those qualities make him quite a good interviewer too  i genuinely liked him   Im sure as young, rich, sports hero, he has not been a choir boy but there is goodness in him  the time i met him i took one of my friends with me from the west coast. She said she didn't like him and wasn’t enthusiastic about meeting him.  She left loving him   No one can say anything bad about ‘her Cam’ anymore
    • Agree about oline. They've tried their best to improve that area. But honestly, has it looked like the most expensive oline in the NFL to you? Not just with Bryce. With Dalton's one game where they almost got the old man killed.  Also YAC shouldn't always be hitting a guy in stride while he's running full speed. Pickens killed us after the catch and those weren't all hit-in-stride plays. I remember a play in Miami when a guy caught a 5 yards curl and took it like 30-40 yards to the house. We don't have that in Carolina. Horn might be the closest thing to that but he can't get significant PT for whatever reason. If Bryce keeps trusting his receivers to make plays, I think he'll become more consistent. Seemed like he only trusted TMac. And force feeding one receiver isn't sustainable. Defenses will start to blanket him and take him out of the game. And yeah, keep taking deep shots. I hate all that dink and dunk football. Hate it.
    • Dan Marino sucked too I guess. Washed up Elway carried by Terrell Davis was actually better than prine Elway. Lol
