Brockers to visit with the Panthers

I really don't think Hurney goes BPA regardless of position in the first. He goes BPA at a position of need in the first round and then looks for guys who drop into the second who are considered first rounders and so forth down the line. And if you look at it he is best in the first round. So given we have missed in the second round with guys like Jarrett, Brown, and so on, maybe the BPA is not that wonderful.

People offer up Stewart as a BPA player but he was at a position of perceived need by the team if not the fans. We were looking to replace Foster and Williams had not really broken out at all. There was a real sense that Stewart needed to be the starter and that Williams was somewhat of a good but not great player up to that point. Obviously Otah was also at a position of need.

I listened to the recent Kiper and Mcshay podcast and I realized Brockers seems to be a flavor of the month just flying up the draft boards. I am paranoid a bit about this kid. He's going to be boom or bust. Last LSU lineman I thought was can't miss was Glenn Dorsey, and he hasn't been much at the NFL level to my knowledge.

I am less worried about Devon Still, but I feel like I am overvaluing him because I like big 10 lineman.

I am hoping we go WR or offense because DL in the top 10 scare me. I guess I would be ok with Couples if we are going to take a lineman at all. I'm worried about this Brockers kid. Heck Omobe Okoye hasn't done much either.

Yes, but after Luck, RGIII, Kalil, Claiborne, Blackmon, and Coples are gone in the top seven or so, the other teams will not have the first crack at Brockers-

Brockers is a mystery--he is raw, and has only played DT for about 20 months. They want to bring him in early to get a look. DT is a need.

Do you think the guys we have are problems for Evans and Nicks in New Orleans? To attack your biggest rival's strength, you need solid DTs. Brockers and Edwards is a good start.

Kind of fits the Cam Newton profile and who would know that better than the Panthers, my fear is that someone ahead of us will snap him up.

I was on the Cam wagon last year. This year it's BROCKERS!

He plays for an SEC team plus he's playing ahead of juniors and seniors. 6'5" 306lbs runs a 4.9 and is still growing!?

Which would mean Fua or McClain would be the odd guys out if we drafted Brock, and I don't see that happening.

Fua plays the nose and Brockers would play the 3 technique so no competition there. McClain would be competing for playing time with Brockers and Neblett. I suspect we will keep 4 or 5 DTs on the final roster so we could keep all three of them at the under tackle position.
