Clausen's time might not be done...

1. Gabbert's pocket presence issues almost disappeared at the end of the year.

2. Nobody ran intermediate or deep routes, or got any separation. However, Gabbert proved he can make the deep throws, as show here:

http://www.nfl.com/videos/jacksonville-jaguars/09000d5d824f2d24/QB-Gabbert-to-TE-Lewis-62-yd-pass

3. Gabbert didn't fumble that many snaps. He fumbled alot, but not many snaps. Then again, he also had zero protection. That can be improved on.

4. Gabbert has a new coaching staff that are committed to him for the time being, something that Clausen never had. Maybe Clausen would have been much better this year had Cam not taken his spot, but who knows. Maybe Gabbert gets better next year, maybe not.

It's way too early too tell, but Gabbert, so far, has looked far better.

I agree with 2, that is about it.

1) Gabbert's pocket presence may have got better, but it is still an issue. Maybe a upgraded Oline would help.

2) You guys don't have any legit #1 WR. but we did have 2 rookies WR playing in 2010. So we did have a better WR core anyways.

3) he may have not fumble as many snaps, but it still reminded me of Clausen, who was terrible in 2010 with fumbling snaps.

4) Clausen had the chance to come into camp and win the starting job, with Olsen, Shockey, and Smith, the coaching staff was not just going to give Newton the job, he had to earn it. And Newton did. Clausen didn't.

It was a consistent issue for a while, and then it wasn't, for the last few weeks of the year.

The difference is, I did watch all of Gabbert's games.

Well, like I said, guys who are effected by pressure....usually can't be cured. Maybe a couple games here or there where it isn't glaring but I have never seen a QB cured of it. Sounds like Gabbert just had a couple games where it wasn't a glaring issue.

Clausen even had a couple where he didn't look like an sissy back there

1. We'll see.

2. Yepp, and we led the league in drops.

3. And Gabbert was bad at fumbling as a whole, not denying that.

4. Didn't say Clausen should have had the job over Newton, I said he might have improved had he been the starter this season.

Would he have been better than Newton? No.

Would he have been better than last season? He couldn't be any worse.

So if y'all had the #1 pick this year would you-

Trade #1 pick for more picks.

Draft a WR or Oline

or

Pick Luck and let Gabbert play the Clausen roll this coming up season?

Tough.

I'd probably draft Luck and let the better player win the job, whoever earned it in camp.

OK...let me get this straight. Clausen v. Gabbert is now being debated? I hate the off-season sometimes. Next thing we'll see is a TO thread since he caught 3 TD passes in an Arena League game.

Im off on Sundays, usually work Mon-Sat- so today I'm bored as hell and seem to find nothing better to do,

about to go see ACTS of Valor in a few hours.

Anybody seen it yet?
