Impressed with the LB's

LB has a ton of depth. A lot of them look really good. I like this crop.

I really liked Demario Davis, Ronell Lewis (ran with the DL, but would be an amzing weakside LB and could play a joker type role for us, Luke K was obviously good, Dont'a Hightower looked amazing for 265, and I really liked that kid from Cal who ran the 4.41, he was pac-12 player of the year. Those guys all impressed, sorry, there were plenty more.

I thought NCSU's Terrell Manning had a solid Combine. I think he solidified himself as a solid mid-round prospect. I'd be looking at him come the 4th/5th if he's still on the board.

He looked really small in his lower body, I do not think that translates well at the next level but he ran well, looked athletic, at worst, special teamer.

Throwing a hypothetical at you that will cause some meltdowns:

First, consider this:

1. RR is a former LB, and DC who likes LBs a lot.

2. We might take BPA at a position of need.

3. Nobody questions Beason's ability to return from an achilles injury and return to his pro bowl level. That is expecting a lot.

4. We are losing Dan Connor.

5. Luke Keuchley, MLB, Boston College showed that he runs in the 4.5s and has the speed and agility to cover on 3rd downs.

6. LK averaged 15 tackles per game in college.

7. LK could have improved his stock at the combine by becoming a top 12 prospect. He is a leader and a field general--much like Beason.

Now ask these questions:

1. Will TD be able to play at a high level? Will Beason? Are you sure?

2. Can Keuchley play either strong or weakside LB? Can Beason?

So, if the panthers are fearful of the injury concerns at LB and the head coach lives and breathes LBs and defense, why is nobody suggesting the best LB in the draft?

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
