Delhomme has new deal

or D: We should have moved him earlier in the offseason and resolved our QB dilemma in another way or E: Restructured his deal in a much less egregious manner, something like 3 years, under $10 mil guaranteed. This new contract is just obscene.

You have no clue how things work. HE IS A STARTING QB, he would not take less money or less years. And your other option like moving him earlier this year, trade him? Dude give it a rest go be a Saints fan then.

This everyone is what we call a Blind Delhomme Jock Sniffer....if you aren't a super fan of Jakey you should pry just go cheer for the Saints.

You are probably also a UNC fan who never attended...

I've always been wondering why organizations don't go on to nerdy message boards and listen to everyone before they make their decisions. The Panthers would be the Redskins or the Cowboys if that were so.

just to make it more fun...

OK, here's a little more chum for the water, because I know the anti-Jake crowd has to be apoplectic right now.

Say what you want about the guy, but he wins. Since he took over as the Panthers starter in 2003, you know how many QBs have more?

Four. Guys named Manning, Brady, McNabb and Roethlisberger. Decent company, it seems, especially considering the year off for Tommy John surgery.

You may not think much of his skills, or his risk-taking, or that last game. But he's their guy, always has been, and now is through 2014.

-- The move gives them some short-term salary cap relief (though that's not why they did it). His agent called the deal "complicated," and couldnt' pin down the savings, but it should allow them to sign a spare part or two after the draft if need be.

-- The savings also signals that they won't be held hostage by Julius Peppers for financial reasons. They've built this plan to absorb his number already, so it's not as if they woke up and realized the $16.683 million franchise tag puts them in a bind.

I still think Peppers can force the issue and work his way out, but they're not going to give the guy away. No reason to.

    • These arguments are getting more and more disingenuous from both the pro and anti Bryce crowd. Bryce looked very good for stretches down the final 8 games. He finally showed glimpses of the guy that was projected as a top QB pick in the draft. Bryce also didn't look like a top 10 NFL QB.  I think we are so far removed from Prime Cam that we forget what an elite QB looks like. I could tell that when people were losing their minds and simping for Sam Darnold. This season needs to finally showcase Bryce as a franchise talent. If that doesn't happen, it's time to pivot. There are very few recent examples of QB's struggling or being a mixed bag through the first three seasons of starting and then suddenly becoming frachise caliber players.
    • See that's the thing what I saw in game 2 was so embarrassing id rather they could just forfeit
    • Are you arguing that his height deficiencies and footwork within the pocket have not been a present issue clearly seen on his game tape particularly in the games he struggled in? Because that's simply denying what everyone in this fanbase who have watched the games have seen. It's interesting how hardline BY fans here quickly and effortlessly pivot from whailing about being victimized to becoming the aggressor and hurling out allegations of bias and hatred. And at the end of the day while Bryce Young clearly improved significantly from the first two games of the season the reality of the situation is he still finished 42nd in yards per pass attempt behind Mac Jones and tied with Caleb Williams and 38th in passing yards per game behind the likes of Gardner Minshew Aidan O'Connell Drake Maye and Will Levis. Furthermore it took Bryce Young 23 games to surpass Panthers legend Kyle Allen's 13 games worth of passing yardage in 2019. So if your argument is he became a head and shoulders better passer over the course of the second half of the season the reality is we're still waiting to see that growth this season. And there is nothing controversial or vitriolic about saying so from the mind of a rational observer.
