You're acting like you know it all when you dont. The Redskins and Cowboys signed old over the hill players just like the Panthers did by extending Jake.

This signing did nothing to help the team. Nobody on this board knows the exact figure on what we will pay Jake the next couple of years and to think we just gained 6 million in capspace would be wrong.

Also dont think we are a bunch of idiots on here because honestly it is making you look stupid.

You're right, he was worth 11 mil to our salary cap this season.

He deserved it and it's not much different money wise from what he's making now. Good move on the Panthers part, saves us probably around 2.5 - 3 million on this season as well.

He in no way, shape or form deserved $20 million dollars guaranteed. Pretty sure everyone knew the extension was coming, but just haha at how much we payed.

That's like $50,000 per jump ball to Smith.

how?

He had a good season considering what he went through. He's won his fair share of games and usually performs well. A lot of people are stuck on that one game and not thinking about the big picture for this season and the next couple of years. He's the best Option we've got and he's a darn good qb when on.

I've never claimed to be an NFL salary cap guru, or one of these guys that has intimate knowledge of what goes on inside an NFL team's management offices (except the time an admin. assistant went down on me near the 49ers Santa Clara facility), but I wouldn't be surprised if there was something around $18M guaranteed in it, with salary and pro-rated bonuses and everything. I mean, if he was due $11M this year, that would be bare minimum that he would take in an extension, otherwise he'd give 'em the finger. I could see them giving him another $5-7M spread out over the next few years in order to kind of help out with this year's cap problems. Then it's a win-win, we get immediate cap releif to some degree, and Jake knows that even if he gets cut after next season, he gets more $$$ just for restructuring. Just my $.02.

Have we won?

More playoff games than the two combined times 10.

When do we get our "almost made it" rings?

In the last 14 years, almost made it is something that both the other teams can't even sniff, so yeah, I'll take that ring...

Has nothing to do with the subject at hand, just sayin'...

Those 2 cents make perfect sense, but all the haters see is dollars. I mean damn, he is a starting QB for the past 6 years. Most guys who can maintain that job usually make more than what he got signed for. HOPEFULLY, this gives us more time to get Moore ready if he is our best option for the future.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
