For those concerned with the Panther's cap...

No concerned at all, restructuring Davis's contract alone will take care of our cap problem.

But for those of you expecting us to be active in FA or land a big-name FA, prepare to be disappointed... this is not our organizational philosophy.

Once again: "We build through the draft".

I am just hoping we fix special teams with FA. I like the team as it is with the holes being filled through the draft.

some more FA wisdom...

RT @davegoldberg84: For future FA analysis, pls remember that last year, Iggles "won'' free agency and Giants "lost.''

This time of year brings out one of my mantras of negotiating contracts: some of the best deals you make are the ones you don't.

Converting salary to bonus for proration. See Steelers 2012. RT @raleighsaint will you explain how cap room can be created, please?

Again...warning...don't believe ANYTHING you hear until 4pm because its meant to F up your head, and some team's game plan.

People who worry about the cap seem silly to me. The salary cap is an imaginary boundary that is easy to manipulate. The cap isn't what's keeping us from signing Super Mario, our philosophy is. Build through the draft, plug holes with mid level FAs. Our D only needed to be adequate last year and we probably would have made the playoffs. Adequate D can be filled by adequate signings.

In short, the sky is not falling and Hurney isn't the sweet tea drinking bumbling idiot you all make him out to be. There's a reason he's running the team we all love and cherish, and we're working our asses off to make less money that we spend on his team anyways...

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
