Dennis Dixon as QB # 2?

Rumblings on steelers board is that Dennis Dixon will be released... would be a solid option to backup Cam.

I'd love Dixon. Or the other Oregon QB in the draft this year, with a later round pick. Dixon would be preferrable.

Would rather use the draft choice on something other than QB.

Getting a sixth rounder that can actually give the team a quality option at that position is rare. If you have a chance to get a player that could be a back-up QB for years, you take it.

Dennis Dixon would be a dang good backup but Im another one that thinks if we can get Russell Wilson in the 6th round, it will be a steal, especially in our system.

Hes a short QB, but his skills are ridiculous and hes got the smarts to be an NFL QB. Im a UNC fan too so no homer here.

Darron Thomas (the Oregon kid) will likely be available as an UDFA. And, if so, would be an excellent signing for the Panthers.

Of course, if people think RG3 would take a pounding because he's smaller than Cam (and I agree with them), Thomas is even thinner than RG3 (I think he may be a bit taller but weighs a good bit less).

But, again, would be an excellent UDFA signing.

    • Ehhhh except a lot of it was his refusal in college not to play hero ball.....  The two things he greatly improved at the NFL level were his accuracy on the run and learning he didn't have to take the deep shot every play.   That said when taking a massive boom or bust athlete at QB the most important thing is their work ethic/coachability/desire to improve

    • The new (released today) FOX ONE app will allow you access to watch your Local FOX Station - similar to how the Paramount Plus app allows you access to watch your local CBS station It'll cost you $20/month for the privilege, but if you're having trouble accessing the over-the-air antenna for FOX, this could be an option to consider the new ESPN app will give you access to ESPN content, but not to the local ABC affiliate. A reminder: if you currently get ESPN via some TV provider (cable, satellite, youtube, etc) then you should be able to use the new ESPN app via your provider login, no additional payment required
