Restaurant Complaint Letter

Recommended Posts

My dad leaves around 4-5 bucks no matter the bill. I always leave more money, after he gets up, whenever we eat out and he pays. It's embarrassing.

My dad gives 15% on food more for drinks. He says the cost of foods gone up so the tip increases along side it.

i mean, a quesadilla, fries, and chicken fingers doesn't exactly sound like you're at ruth's chris. so if it comes out a little bad one night, then i would let it slide. after all, you mention that this place is usually spot on. some restaurants make mistakes. as for the server, adding gratuity on a 4-top is ridiculous. in fact, adding gratuity on anything less than a dinner party of 20+ is ridiculous. i would have said something right then and there. sending a letter after the fact makes you come off as a passive aggressive snot. i would let it slide, restaurants [and servers] have off nights. seems like it happened to you.

A 20+ top for grat? R u crazy?? 4 is ridiculous but 8 is reasonable only for the simple fact your other tables are probably getting thier service reduced by the ppl in the 8 top.

Not to mention on top of that the entire night of damage that would ensue if the 8 top stiff you because the person paying the bill also went shopping for shoes on the same day and decides to save money via the tip

adding that gratuity option is completely idiotic. it's downright insulting, really, though i understand why they do it... a couple jackasses not tipping can make you pretty desperate to clue them in.

for a four-top though? good lord. if you've got a twenty-top or something massive that's going to suck up two hours of your time i can forgive that, because if you get a bunch of douches that don't tip your day could be shot completely.

Where I work we clearly state on the menu that parties of 8 or more will receive a service charge. Never heard of a 4top getting it. I have that some places are adding "service" charges on to menu to make up for the rising food cost. Its not illegal but it is probably not moral or ethical. Place I used to work at charged a "take-out fee". Seemed shady to me.

It could be the waitress is trying to bump up her own tips or the place is trying to make money where they can.

It's a better place than an Outback but lower than a Ruth Chris. We averaged $20 per person.

I compliment and tip heavy for good service, and I ask for the manager for bad service. I would not stiff a server a tip, but if they're rude or suck they only get 15% and I'll talk to the manager about it. I'm pretty low maintenance too, but if you can't do the basics of your job, get another one.

    • Yep he made the comment " I dont know what they were doing out there at that point" in the press conference. Let's be real they all got paid but they also know his system suppresses there offensive potential.
    • Yup the casuals on Facebook ive gotten 85 laughing or angry emojis so far for pointing it out.  The amount of them throwing a fit because the canes were booed is insane
    • Why are you so fixated on yards? Even if yards were a good judge of QB play, his low yardage totals in some of those games were partly a function of drops (looking at you Xavier Leggette…).  I’m not advocating that Bryce was elite for the last half of last year, but the eye test certainly supported high level QB play for large stretches. He made a lot of high difficulty, put it on the money/drop in the bucket throws. He converted on 3rd and 4th down, kept drives moving, and put the team in position to win games. And it’s not on him that the defense blew it late after he led game tying drives, Leggette dropped a game winning TD, or Chuba fumbled the ball in OT. We could have finished the season close to .500 with wins against 3 playoff teams including KC and Philly during that stretch largely due to Bryce’s play.    Has he sustained this level of play long enough to deserve an higher ranking? No. But for judging based in that stretch alone, he would. But whether he can perform more consistently at that level or build on that, and thus earns a higher ranking, remains to be seen.
