Silly to fault the Saints fan for Mills always being a Saint in their eyes.....just like it is silly for a Saints fan not to acknowledge the impact he had on another franchise. Most reasonable fans don't get caught up with that.....there are always idiots you can find that will go against the norm.

The real world doesn't work that way. Most fans do get caught up in arguments and rivalries. That actually happens to be a very large part of the sport. To say other wise is foolish and inaccurate, and just makes you look as if you're trying to be a hipster.

The argument has arisen on this forum alone numerous times over the years. I've seen it on Saints forums. I've seen it on other Panthers forums. Acting as if fans aren't going to argue about something just because you don't personally deem it as reasonable doesn't mean it does not happen.

Well, you also can't define a fanbase by a couple message board posters or a couple retards. The loud minority doesn't speak for the relatively reasonable majority.

What is there argument then if it is such a heated debate? Not being difficult...just missed this was a hot topic

Right. I forgot "most" fans don't enjoy talking trash to other fans and arguing about their respective teams. Sorry bro, that totally slipped my mind.

Hey, me and this Falcons friend of mine are going for tea and cookies later and we're gonna about how awesome

Atlanta is and how everything about Carolina sucks. You can come if you like.

I enjoy some good trash talk....sorry, like I said, I didn't realize Mills was a hot button topic.

Was not sure whether to believe this off a twitter message (sorry). Just read it, also with pic, on the Observer site.

I think this is awesome! Sam Mills was the perfect original Panther. He became the heart and character of the team. We were so lucky he was a Panther. Every Panther should know who he is. Every Panther should play to honor Sam. Cannot think of a better mantra for this team.

What are you talking about?

Yes, I'm aware of what keep pounding is, duh.. I'm also aware of who it involved and the brooding rivalry between panther and saints fan over ownership of Sam. This is just another notch for us.

Maybe this is what he was talking about:

http://profootballta...-beating-woman/

"Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Mark Fields was arrested on Sunday for allegedly beating and choking the mother of Fields’ six-year-old child, according to police documents obtained by TMZ.

Fields was charged with aggravated assault, endangerment, disorderly conduct, and

interfering with an educational institution. Witnesses say Fields confronted the woman outside a childcare facility. Fields said the woman tried to take his child from him.

The cops say that the mother and child were treated by paramedics for mild injuries. Fields has since been released from prison.

Fields was drafted by the Saints in 1995, playing six years with them. He finished his career in Carolina, making his second Pro Bowl in his final season of 2004."

From the comments section:

"...he was arrested in aug 92 for an assault on another female As a good friend what did you do? Were you being a good friend in 99 when he kicked the other mother that was carrying his 2nd child at the time in the stomach. What did you the good friend do then or were you even around that far back or are you a friend that was picked along his career. As his good friend what did you do when he punched the same ex in the face with a closed fist and left her blind in the eye in June 03? Where were you when he got arrested for DUI 06 where were u doing the whole cancer? where were you when he almost killed his daughter in a boating accident after he got drunk where were you in when he vandalized his hm in Charlotte and the children lived in a hotel for 2 weeks. Where were you when he assaulted the same girl in Dec 09 and where the hell were you on 8-9-10..."
