Kuechly is the obvious pick, he's got swagger, class, character and is a fuging beast on the field!!! He's bust proof, here's a guy who lead the nation in tackles and can read offenses like Peyton Manning reads defenses. He will be the pick, no debate about it. He's the next Urlacher and that's just too good to pass up. Beason can move to OLB.

Nope. Beason's the heart and soul of our defense. A 5th year senior gets kicked to the curb by some rookie? Hell no. Did you see his recent workout video? Our guy isn't "the next somebody," he is that somebody.

OMG a workout video!! Like, that's totally the same thing as in a game covering a TE 20 snaps and a offensive lineman cutting at your ankles! YAY!!!! Beason's soul maybe in this defense, but his Achilles is not.

...Curry has been labeled the "safest pick in the draft."...

"It's hard to find a flaw in his game," McShay says. "He's just the complete package."

Kiper agrees: "He's just a kid who always shows up. (Curry) is everywhere. On punt coverage, he's the first guy down. That shows what a team player he is."

I'm not saying that Kuechly is going to be just like Aaron Curry. But just making the point that there is no such thing as a "safe" or a "bust proof" pick

Yes and covering mediocre competition in college games means nothing compared to a multiple pro-bowl NFL linebacker. Beason has shown what he can do in the NFL, Kuechly has not.

that's an injury threat for any linebacker, and yes that includes your star ACC tackle collector Luke Keuchly

ironically what can reduce unwanted contact with offensive linemen is a stronger defensive line

Honestly, I think you've lost your mind. Move Beason to OLB and let a rookie take his spot. Really, Beason is our QB on defense, if anything or if we drafted Kuechly, he'd either sub out with either Anderson or Davis. Beason doesn't leave the field!

    • I would be quite surprised if he got more than a fine. Flopping has long been out of hand in the NBA. There were definitely some Heat players doing extra selling fouls. LaMelo seems to be getting quite a bit of hate on social media for the Bam injury though. And it is fair to wonder how the next opponent might defend him going forward knowing what happened. I don't think we can just be homers and dismiss it entirely especially after all the complaints we've made about the Pistons in particular. I think this group better be prepared for a very physical game on Friday.
    • When you look closely at the play it was careless from Melo but bang bang full speed I don’t think it was intentional or dirty or deserving of a foul. Bam’s off balance momentum was already carrying him towards a fall and even if Melo didn’t touch him it may have had the exact same outcome. And honestly I think he did try to sell it more when he felt LaMelo’s hand. Dudes arms flopped back instead of bracing for the fall. Sucks he got hurt but a suspension would be ridiculous and an awful look for the league. Fine and move on
    • Sure but it literally would be benching him lol, and it would kill his confidence. He’ll get back in a rhythm, kid just had an all time great rookie season and led the league in 3s, you gotta stick with him as starter. But yeah I’m all for getting some more lineups throughout the game with Coby and Melo   and yeah Miles’ block and Coby and others jumping him in celebration was fuging epic
