"Cam is gonna go into sophomore slump, defenses will know how to defend him" argument?

Cam is a passing QB who just so happens to be a freight train and can get out of a bad play, not sure how defenses are gonna learn "how to defend him" when he's not MAINLY a running QB. He isn't a The Golden Calf of Bristol or a young Mike Vick. He can throw the damn football, quite well, actually. If he limits his turnovers and continue to figure out defenses, Cam will have no problem at all this year.

Cam not only has Steve Smith but also has three damn good RB's, a damn good TE, upcoming WR's and a defense that can ONLY get better.

I wouldn't say he's a freight train when he runs it. More like one of those Japanese bullet trains, fast and slick.

You may have a few naysayers out there, but I think that it's more about people not speaking to the big grey elephant in the room: They don't want to specifically address that big can of whoop ass that they fear Cam is gonna break out on the league.

With the help of a great team, I might add.

I also love how they bring up the argument his stats went down as the season progressed, Cam threw more touchdowns toward the end of the season, his turnovers were down and the running game picked up so that's why he had fewer yards. Cam went from throwing the ball 40 times a game to 25.

    • Best birthday present ever!
    • People were discussing the new backup QB in comparison the the starter.  Neither has anything close to a cannon.  Video was posted of them throwing.  If people can’t be free to express their opinions without being put on a list of posters who have ruined this place we have a bad situation here. People trying to silence  criticism of the QB.    Maybe actually post about the other players instead of about the other posters. That is where it went off the rails.
    • That's true and we're definitely going to hear more about it as summer progresses. But at the end of the day all of the progress we've made on the roster as a whole will only matter if our passing offense can emerge from the basement of the NFL. In 2023 it was 32 out of 32 in 2024 it was 30th out of 32 and last year it was 26th out of 32. And early in the season we relied heavily on a career year from Rico Dowdle who is no longer on the roster. This is only reinforced by the fact that we (depending on how one views it) effectively took playcalling out of Dave Canales hands and brought in another offensive mind. The elephant in the room isn't going anywhere no matter how much we may not like it.
