Draft Discussion (Other Teams)

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

A thread for general discussion of draft news from around the league.

First up: After specifically telling Colt McCoy that they were not going to take a quarterback in the first round, the Browns took Brandon Weeden and are now trying to trade McCoy (ouch).

Speculation that the Jets may have blown it again. Kirk Herbstreit says New York's other team whiffed big time taking Quinton Coples with Melvin Ingram still on the board.

And then there's the Pats, who this year traded up rather than down. People are thinking that the Pats are in a big time "win now" mode after feeling embarrassed by last year's Super Bowl loss.

The official Bucs page still has a link that says their new message board is "coming soon". It's been there for quite a while now. Chances are they're probably glad not to have one at the moment

I was thinking about looking in on Saints Report to see what they were saying about their pic...oh wait

I think the Bucs did a horrible job, especially since Doug Martin played against who?

St Louis has a great day ahead of them, three picks within the first 13 picks tonight.

Finally, who the fug is AJ Jenkins, 49ers? Moss, Manningham, Crabtree, now this guy.

Word from Michael Silver at Yahoo that Jeff Fisher was in a state of near panic yesterday after having already lost out on the first two guys they'd targeted (Richardson and Blackmon) and apparently in danger of losing their third target (Brockers) but this time things fell in their favor (link)

He converted all 13 of his field goal tries with a 100% conversion rate that led all FBS kickers with at least 12 attempts. Fitzgerald was also perfect on his 14 extra points. He will compete with Matthew Wright for the Panthers’ kicking job in training camp. Harrison-Hunte went undrafted despite a strong showing at the Combine. He’s an older prospect who will turn 25 by the start of his rookie year, but he had just one season of sustained production at SMU after five years at Miami. Still, he earned first-team All-ACC honors in 2024 with 8.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks and will push for a roster spot in Carolina as an athletic interior disruptor.   more at the link https://www.profootballrumors.com/2025/05/panthers-sign-19-undrafted-free-agents
