Where Will The Panthers D Rank This Year.

Recommended Posts

Yardage? Around 20th. If our offense scores as much or even improves from last year, you gotta remember that you keep giving the ball to the other team every time you score, especially as quickly as this team is capable. Think last year's packers. Gave up a ton of yards on defense, but everyone knew it was still a really good D.

Also with big leads you tend to play a more bend, don't break defense. Forcing the other team to eat up clock and prevent big quick scores. I think in terms of points allowed we will be somewhere in the middle of the pack, and I think our ints, sacks, defensive TDs, and 3rd down stop % will all improve.

top 5 offense.

top 10 defense.

rivera gets the guys whipped in shape since he's taking a more active role in the D this year. players are healthier than last year. beason being back will be the biggest factor. they've brought in more talent. they have wilkos coaching the DBs.

i believe that this defense will make the same turnaround that the offense did last year.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
