1) The only reason I can think of him taking a roster spot would be Rivera showing loyalties to a dedicated & hard working towel boy.

2) Cam Newton is #1. It's the # he is recognized as a Panther with. Besides, he would have to write a very large check to buy all the #1 jerseys if he switched.

What third string QB would you replace him with?

Come on guys, he's third string, what does it matter? Do you honestly think you are going to get a QB with serious potential in that position, or do you think teams value good locker room guys who know the system?

I would be surprised if he is cut. More likely he will run through his contract and he will get replaced with another draftee.

Rivera likes competition and replacing underachieving players. I think we brought in a QB, but I expect Clausen to be on the roster for the season. If he progress, he may not be inactive for every game. And just to answer your question: No, I'm not a Clausen fan.
