Any forward pass becomes incomplete and ball is dead if:

(a) Pass hits the ground or goes out of bounds. Although it did kinda look like he did have his hands under the ball.

( B) Pass hits the goal post or the crossbar of either team.

Gotta go, the wife just got home. And GOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just for clarification the rules say that if the pass goes out of bounds or hits the ground it is incomplete. It doesn't say if the ball is caught and incidentally touches the ground while being possessed then it is incomplete.. Big difference.

it's cool. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. I agree that he never let go of the ball. The ball clearly hits the ground though with it in his hands... Is that not by rule an incompletion?

Not just no...but HELL NO.

The ball can hit the ground and still be a catch. You cant use the ground to help you gain control over the ball.

In a diving catch like this you have to 1) get two feet, ass etc down in bound and 2) Maintain control of the ball through the dive . So the deal is not if the ball hit the ground cause it did, but did he maintain control of the ball through the dive? I think he did that thus TD!!

Sigh.

Jon Beason 29 PD 8 Int

Kuelchy 0 PD 0 Int

If Kuelchy become as half as good as Beason i will be happy.

Sigh....

Beason is coming off career threatening surgery.

Kuechly has been described by Mayock, for example, as the best cover linebacker he has ever seen.

Just watch and I will be nice and not tell you I told you so when it is proven true.

Great clip of Kuechly's interception (1:37) :D

Watch that back slow, check his eyes and watch his hands. You'll see him point right to the spot where he knows the ball is coming, break on it with perfect timing and then run like he's shot out of a cannon to the end zone. He even switches hands with the ball when he sees Newton coming.

Plenty to get excited about there.
