Mare

The OP obviously doesn't know what he's talking about here... We all get that... But I am glad this came up and here's my 2¢

I guess I'm of the mind that he deserves a second chance as well, is our alternative that much more reliable? They should have definitely at a Minimum restructured his damned deal though!

If he stays (and I suspect he will) he had better do his damn job!

If this dude costs us even one game this year, it will be looked at as 1 game too many, especially after what we saw this year. This is a sticky situation for our HC. Do u stay with a veteran with experience? Or do you bring in the kid that's nailing 65 yarders??? I'd take the kid for sure... Tough one though

Let the kid kick all pre-season... If he does well then it's time to get rid of Mare

Honestly Rivera brought this whole problem in himself though. If we would have just kept Kasay, then this wouldn't even be a topic. As it is though... Here we are. Here's to hoping that our High Powered offense and healthy Defense doesn't ever require a game winning kick!

Dude this is getting sad...

Users like this fool and B.O.B are just bringing down the discussions and this forum has turned into a joke.

Why get rid of Mare?

Because it is stupid to spend that kind of money on a kicker given the type of offense we have.

Yeah, because obviously if you have a good offense, you don't need a good kicker. Not like we were ever in a situation where we needed one to come through for us.

Oh wait.

You either draft one or you sign one. And a good kicker is going to cost. Mare sucks, yes, but I don't see any issue with spending money for a clutch kicker. Not like it has hurt us. We still have plenty of cash in the bank.

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
