Criminal Charges Dropped Against Bucs CB Aqib Talib

After a season of futility, which witnessed an NFL worst 30.9 points surrendered per game, the secondary of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look different in 2012. Changes include the signing of cornerback Eric Wright, selection of 1st round pick Mark Barron, and shifting of veteran Ronde Barber to safety.

Yet, following the surprise dismissal of criminal charges in Texas on Monday, June 18, the new-look unit will likely feature familiar 5th year player Aqib Talib.

Durr, durrrrr, it's not a Bucs board.

I don't think many of us saw this coming. I guess we'll be dealing with him twice this year.

Smith "dealt with him" fairly well before, as I recall.

Not worried.

When was this? Because Aqib got hurt the game we played them this year, and then he was put on IR. So he and Smitty only matched up for one play.

Still remember in 09 when Talib was trying to get after pep during the scrum right after the Dante wesley hit, Talib is a punk and a fake tough guy

He's also the one who directly hit Clausen with his helmet AFTER the play was over.

Word was he was on the trading block, idk about now but Washington was very interested. Raheem Morris is now the DB coach in DC.

I don't think he is anymore, Schianco has been talking very highly of him.

    • Ha ha. Are you saying that in response to the whole team, or just the Panthers? LOL  I was ninth, so I was stuck between C-Mac and someone lesser, and I really should've picked a receiver when I picked Chuba. But, YOLO. If CMC gets hurt, I hope that this San Fran writer was correct in his assertion that Guerendo is simply the better, more explosive backup. I know they signed Brian Robinson, but I think he's JAG more than anything else. Guerendo has a bit of an injury history himself, but he is 220 with legit 4.3 speed. I must admit that I took my chances with the receivers. I actually traded Chubb and Mixon for T-Mac. I'm hoping that Ollie Gordon learns the top spot in Miami and that Dont'e Thornton becomes the top dawg in Vegas. If that happens, I'll be great. Between Pearsall, Thornton, Golden, Coleman and X, someone has to break out. I also have Christian Watson in an IR slot (though I want to put something together to acquire Rashee Rice).
    • Thanks for sharing. This is fascinating stuff. I know some of us were hesitant with him due to his limited play within structure in college and the need to constantly relying on hero ball. But his lack of ownership and lack of work ethic is staggering.
    • We had 3 chances to hire harbaugh and 2 different owners passed.   We deserve every bit of misery that comes our way.  We always zig left when we should zig right.  We have had owners that thought they could outsmart the system
