Brandon LaFell interview

Recommended Posts

Actually Brandon Came across clearly and intelligently. I was shocked after reading his twitter.

On Cam:

"I- I felt like he was that. .and I knewd he was a. . he was a baller dude through a guy he is

. . is that first game we played in Arizona"

he's gotten a lot fuggin better but that still made me lol

As soon as he made that Smitty comment he regretted it. You could hear him kind of groan a little when they said you know Smitty's gonna be listening to this right?

btw gratz to him for getting a little spotlight, its time we start looking in that direction to see what we got.

-Ready for pressure of spotlight, ready to prove he's a legit # 2 receiver for the panthers by making plays

-I get to the next level by making plays on consistent level and have everyone in NFL talking about me, same way Smitty did it( on being a household name outside the carolinas)

-I'm a little more physical than Smitty, not taking anything away from him he's very physical too, better blocker, better ball catcher over the middle than Smitty, Smiths a better deep threat(on how's different than Smitty)

-Last year training was all on me, but this year have OTA'S, been able to get into my playbook and ask Smitty a bunch of questions about how do I better my game, etc.(on how he's preparing for the season)

Being around Smitty day in and day out and other guys around the league helped out so far

-Feel like we have enough receivers on the field already that have built chemistry together, we were top 5 in passing last year, we feel like we can get the job done(on if he agrees with Smith about needing Plax)

-Agrees that everyone is tighter this year, got to do everything together this year.Last year we only had 2 weeks together to build chemistry, this year much different, even went a played paint ball together. Know the playbook, learn more than just 1 receiver position.(on building team chemistry)

-We all were was second guessing the pick of Luke,at then end of the day he's here now but he's looked good in OTA'S so far, he's here to win and were glad to have him on the team, he can do it all inside backer, outside backer, special teams, he's got time to win everyone over just like Cam did, last year people were also second guessing Cam. (on If Luke was the right pick)

-Win division, get into playoffs(personal goals)

Thinks if we can get into the playoffs we can make a run

-I knew Cam was a baller in first game against AZ, called first TD before it happened.

(on cam losing madden cover)

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
