According to Steve Reed of the Associated Press, the Panthers placed wideout David Gettis on the active-physically unable to perform list, meaning he’s not ready to pass a physical and begin camp.

Unfortunate because I was looking forward to seeing what he could do with Cam...might be awhile until we get to see that.

It's been a year.

If Gettis is still having problems with that knee, I suspect he'll always have issues with it.

I hope you're wrong, but I think you might be right.

Yep. Definitely an issue. Gettis hurt his knee before last season started.....other guys hurt there knees at the end of last year and are already back.

You are comparing apples to oranges. There are many variations (like the type of injury, the position, etc). At WR, if Gettis doesn't have his speed back, then he is useless. So the Panthers are going to give him time to recover. It's not that surprising. I never understood why people here thought he would be a major contributor this year.

Wes Welker was a WR who tore his ACL at the end of a season and was ready the next year.

They were talking about Gettis on Sirius NFL this am

Honestly, Murphy > Gettis based off what I've seen. I remember watching Murphy torch the Steelers a few years back and thinking he could be a stud if he develops right. That hasn't really happened yet, but again, with Jamarcus Russell, Bruce Gradkowski, Kyle Boller, and a recently un-retired Carson Palmer throwing to him, you can't expect much numbers-wise.

My only concern here is Murphy's health.

Ill give credit to anyone who can get 600 yards receiving in consecutive years for the raiders. Everyone saw what a QB carousel can do to even the most talented recievers(Steve Smith). By no means am I comparing the 2, I just think with consistant QB play he might have had even better stats for those 2 years.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
