SB Nation Rankings

Recommended Posts

TCF quit assing up this thread please and thanks

i'm perfectly content with a number two ranking. cam is not up for consideration because he is not a running back, and given williams has ended the last two seasons on IR i'd say our ranking is perfectly fair, maybe even generous.

that #30 safety rating hurts. i really hope nakamura can come in and contribute immediately.

Yeah, S and the guys not named Gamble.....

Granted pass rush hasn't been great but Gamble didn't use that as an excuse and half the time most guys shot themselves in the foot in the secondary

Or you could just google "Carl fuging Lewis one of the greatest athletes in human history had his best performance after he became vegan."

TCF, you are ignorant.

Obviously nobody mods anymore. If they did you would be banned.

Additionally, I'm not ignorant on the subject at all, my mother in law of 7 years is a vegan. Like I said previously... Nothing against vegans, just not my choice... But since Carl Lewis who wasn't even in a contact sport beasted I guess that means vegans are superior athletes?

This discussion has totally gone too far. Let's just stop now... Ok?

The only ranking that didn't really make sense to me was linebackers. We have legit guys at every position. In a few years we could be no.1 but right now we are at least top ten.

It's kind of weird how good our offense was yet our receiver and TE rankings are so low. By the will of Jim Celania Barnidge will have his revenge!

a lot depends on how our current guys develop over the course of the season, but CB, DL, and S should probably be our picks in the top three rounds next season unless the problems are addressed through free agency. one more solid starter at any position in the secondary and one more on the DL would drastically improve our defensive rankings.

You made no point there. And now you're trolling...

I don't trust people that don't eat meat.... But I also have nothing against vegans...

Meaning that if you were a vegan, I wouldn't have anything against you, and we could work together, go to games, but if I had a secret... I wouldn't trust you to keep it.

Like I said before... This sidebar has gone on for far too long, can we move in now?

Our backfield is the best in the NFL. That is my opinion and nothing can be said to change my mind.

I would personally give the slight edge to our backfield over Houston since we added Tolbert, but I'm not surprised they got #1. Everyone seems to be all over Arian Fosters nuts lately.

The only ranking I thought was terribly off was the LB ranking at 12. I don't see how we aren't in the top 5. Only teams that come to mind that are clearly better are 49ers and Ravens.

Meh, those rankings aren't terrible. We have a lot that needs to come together along the defensive line and secondary.

As for being an NFL player and a vegan, Tony Gonzalez is one and he is statistically the best tight end of all time. So it's probably not going to be a big deal.

To be fair, 2 are coming off injuries which practically caused both to miss an entire year, a rookie, and then Anderson.

So the only sure thing is Anderson....the others have legit questions until they play

    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
