Fair Weather Fans Beware- Rain Expected at Gametime

I expect to be there wearing my Panther poncho which I got last year at the Jacksonville game during halftime. The forecast is for steady rain and occasional thundershowers all night. Seems expectations and attendance at camp has been up but attendance for a preseason game it usually down even in good weather. It also seems as if the lower bowl is deserted given everyone scurries inside when it rains. i wonder how many folks will show up to get a look at the 2012 edition of the Panthers.

On a more important note, do you think the rain will affect our passing game or the defense tonight?? Will we run it more or not?? You know Houston is going to try and pound it and I can't believe we will be any different. Will we play loose zone given the poor footing or turn it loose and blitz given the difficulty throwing down field. It should definitely slow down our wide open offense.

A lot QBs don't seem to be as overly bothered by a light rain as some in the past suggest.

It isn't a real game so unless it is a medium to heavy rain....I expect us to pass a fair amount.

Yeah I remember the 40% rain chance and possible thundershower forecast for the Jacksonville game last year.

Just sayin.................................

I'll be in my dry, comfy recliner with my 10.00 beer and brats.

And I will be out there yelling and screaming in the rain so that you get to watch a real game atmosphere on the television in your living room. You can thank me later.........................................

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
