Hah, you guys sure did get worked up over my comments earlier. Here's my point though: the player can and does work correctly and if it isn't there something wrong on your end. The problem with the player is that is has TONS of compatibility issues and is buggy as all hell when everything isn't up to date, so in that regard it's a poo program - I agree. My only point was that if it's not working correctly then it's something that you have the power to rectify and it's not technically because the player is broken.

I don't think it's so much that we are worked up about your comments as it is venting about the problems at Panthers.com.

Just in this thread, 10 people have mentioned problems watching videos on the site. That tells me that, yes, there is a big problem. If a website only works for those that have perfectly healthy machines, or have the tech savvy to work around the glitches, it is not a very well designed and managed site.

I am going to send them an e-mail inquiring about the problems. When I get a response, it will be shared on here.

I really hope things workout for Gettis Health wise. I know a lot of people are questioning his ability after so long but I honestly believe he is the only guy on our current roster that has the ability to be a future #1 WR. He showed all the tools with really really really bad QB play. He's big, fast and runs good and occasionally great routes. Also showed up on big catches in crunch time.

I had a good feeling as soon as the draft pick was announced and I'm sticking by my gut feeling. That being said; I was pissed about LaFell and he is proving me wrong thankfully.

My point is this: Ryne Robinson had lots of potential, got hurt, and never recovered from the injury. The Panthers expected big things from him, and he had flashes in his rookie year. I'm concerned about Gettis' health. He was injured 12-months ago, and still not ready to go. Even Davis is ahead of Gettis in recovering...after 3 major knee injuries. If healthy, Gettis has a great opportunity, but nobody including the Panthers has seen him play since 2010. Not doubting his ability, just doubting his health.

According to Gettis himself he is recovered from the injury that held him out last year. His knee is fine but he now is nursing a hamstring injury. As we know with Beason, they tend to linger and I am in no rush to rush either of them back.

Agreed. If I was a young guy that got injured my rookie year, I would be cautious about returning too soon. A lot of these guys only have a chance for one big contract in their careers. No purpose in destroying themselves before they get to that point.

It sounds like the training staff is working hard to strengthen Gettis' lower body. So perhaps they believe with a bit more time and effort, they can get a nice long-term return. Listening to recent comments by RR and David, I don't think he is in danger of getting cut. If we can give David more time while simultaneously developing guys like Murphy and Pilares, it's a big win for us.

Wish I had the same warm fuzzies about Hogan, but I don't.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
