A 2012 Panthers Look at Stats and Records Round Up

Just decided to get this in before the season started. If you have any to add, feel free.

Cam needs 4,255 passing yards to become 3rd on Panthers all time passing list.

Cam needs 3823 passing yards this year to exceed Peyton Manning for most passing yards in the first two seasons of a career. I'm ASSUMING Manning has that mark. (Marino does not, for those who may have had him come to mind)

Cam needs 26 passing TDs to become Panthers 3rd all time TD tosser.

Double Trouble have a firm grip on the 1-2 spots in the Panthers all time rushing list.

Cam (with 706 career rushing yards) is 34 yards away from reaching the top ten on that list, surpassing Derrick Moore (and likely Nick Goings this season as well)

Deangelo is 9 points away from overtaking Wesley Walls for 4th on the Panthers all time scoring list. Stewy is 6th on that list, but is a ways off.

Smitty needs one reception to record 700 career catches, making him 36th all time.

Steve Smith needs 7 more catches to move up 33rd. With 68 catches this year he can move up to 23rd on the NFL 'a all time list. If he were to explode and nab 115 balls (the mark for catching the next guy) this year, he can catch another bunch of grouped up guys, but will likely be taking down them down next season.

His 10278 receiving yards are 32nd all time, and with another 1000 yard season, could move him up to 26th. An additional 500 could move him up as high as 22nd.

His 59 TD receptions are 71st all time, but this list is VERY bunched. With 10 TD grabs this year, he could move into the 36th spot. Every TD grab will elevate boost a bunch of spots.

Brandon Lafell is 43 catches away from becoming the teams 10th all time leading receptions getter (that list including many RBs, FBs, and TEs)

Charles Johnson needs 11.5 sacks to tie Kevin Greene for the Panthers 3rd all time leading sacker.

Chris Gamble is the Panthers all time leading INT getter, with 27 to Eric Davis' 25. He can use this season and the rest of his career to pad that position.

Charles Godfrey, with 9, is two away from tying Deon Grant on that list (who is like, still playing at what has to be in his late fifties)

Beast has 8 career picks and will tie Godfrey and Ricky Manning with another.

As of now, the Panthers have at least 3 rookies starting (Luke, Amini, Nortman) another who could be considered a starter (Adams at PR) and another who could become one by seasons end (Norman) Alexander and Campbell are both on the roster.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
