Did The Team Overlook The Bucs?

Saints**, Falcons both swept us last year and the Giants the SB champs

I don't want to criticize, but I think that's the calmest I've seen Cam after a loss since he started. I know he's maturing but it just seemed like once the game was over they was already focused on going back home for the Saints**. The whole play calling was just bizarre, like we still was in the pre-season. Man I hope we win

I also saw Beast post-game interview, he seemed more happy about coming back than the loss, which is understandable but its like damn you just lost to the Bucs

Cant say the team overlooked them, but can say more than a few on this forum did the 38-10 (and the like) game predictions and all the talk about how easily we would trash them. It never fails to amaze me how folks who have no inside information, aren't a part of the organization, and only know what yahoo/espn/ misc. news outlets spits out, or otherwise their own loyalty, can say with such confidence that we will win against such and such team.

That's why I love this place..its always good for a few laughs. :D

YES. Lafell stated in an interview afterwards that the team remembered the beatdowns they gave the Bucs last year. The coaches and players thoroughly expected to go down there and have their way with them.

I put the entire loss on the coaching staff for not having the players prepared and for not making any adjustments.

And I hate to hear Charles Johnson say "we will bring more intensity this week". Why is it always DEs that have motor problems? Shouldn't you bring 100 percent intensity every Sunday?

    • Doubling tripling and quadrupling down on this subject in defense of the pick is reminiscent of a certain mindset that has overtaken the political world. This conversation will become less contentious and dragged out to the point of becoming a dead beaten horse if rational minds can simply agree that we made a mistake missed on a potential franchise center and we will learn from it. All this coping is unnecessary.
    • Here in lies the rub that the supporting posters continue to ignore. He wasn’t a 2nd round pick in the 2025 class, especially with an ACL tear. It was a dumb pick for any GM who looks ahead to determine values. C and CB were much better values than an injured RB in 2024. If a RB isn’t even playing much in 2024, you have to compare him to 2025. We’re beating a dead horse but only because the defense of the pick is almost comical at this point. We’ve made a ton of poo picks and moves/non trades while Morgan was GM and the assistant GM. It happens, we don’t have to jump through hoops to act like we just had some really bad luck. The 2025 draft class is unknown so far but damn it felt way better afterwards for the first time in a long time. Embrace the potential and stop stamping guaranteed on the box of poo of the 2018-2024 drafts. We are were we aware because of them and 2025 has to hit so we can get past the 7 win max in 7 year hurdle. Also, “flashed his talent” isn’t 9 carries for 22 yards. His one reception for 18 yards isn’t a flash with 11 other touches for 27 yards. He hasn’t proven anything. We have no idea if he’ll contribute in 2026.
    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
