Our Linebackers...

Wasn't this suppose to be our strongest part of our defence this year?

Beason isn't the same, he was missing running holes, missing tackles and his pass coverage was awful and that is the best part of his game, Luke and Anderson played okay, but nothing amazing, and of course TD is banged up.

I just feel with the amount of potential talent we have at linebacker, we shouldn't be getting carried to the 2nd level by running backs, when we blitz LBs we never get close to getting a sack, and when we don't people are still getting open on them.

Could be just a bad game, but beason and the LB core looked horrible last night/so far this season.

Kuechly needs to play every down. He's a beast when's he's out there. Only player who gets sideline to sideline

But our staff removes him often. It's bullshit

Went to the game. It was sometime in the 3rd quarter Kuechly made a tackle after being taken out an he blew his lid off out of frustration. He knows he deserves/should be out there on every play

Beason is a good bit slower, but he gives 100% effort and is usually in the right place. He just doesn't have the burst that he used to, and for an undersized middle linebacker; if you lose your burst, you're f***ed

Thomas Davis and J.A. have been solid.

I've seen absolutely nothing out of Keuchly so far.

He gets his tackles 8-10 yards down the field and he has taken horrible angles in the run game.

I'm willing to give him a pass because he is a rookie, but as it stands right now, he looks out of place on the outside.

Go back and watch this game again (if you can stomach it) and watch Andre Brown's cutbacks. He would cutback to Keuchly's side after Keuchly was sucked into the middle when breaking containment.

He looks like he is thinking to much on the field, instead of reacting.

I saw Keuchly make some very good plays but he is a rook and he does make mistakes sometimes, he is not the problem its others who are suppose to be the vets that are not playing well, I watched Beason bounce of the rookie running back when he had him behind the line. It just looked like sloppy play on both sides of the ball and that falls on the coaches.

Beason did look terrible last night. It is ridiculous how they are trying to ease TD back in, but are playing Beason every down of every game. Keuchly has the stamina and is hungry. Why would you take the LB who had so many interceptions in college off of the field on passing downs? Are they trying to be cute and spontaneous? Beason has lost some of that burst and he is playing on skates. Keuchly would have made that pick that Beason could not elevate to intercept. Thomas Davis has played the best so far and Anderson has been underwhelming. I just want to dictate what the offense does some of the time. Jesuz Christo!!!

Pretty much everything said in this post is wrong. I'm not even going to bother going through it all and correcting you. I don't care that much. I just want you to know that it's all wrong.

Yeah, I might need for you to explain why every single thing is pretty much wrong with the post or should I expect all people with history on the board to be this dissmissive.

    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
    • My top-5 JAGS: 1. Tommy Tremble: May not ever be top-tier, but has been solid and you never doubt the effort. 2. Cade Mays: Not bad for a 6th rounder. Hated to see him go. 3. Brady Christensen: One of the most versatile backup OLs in the NFL. Hopefully we re-sign him. 4. Trevis Gipson: Quietly was really solid depth last season. Glad we brought him back. 5. Brycen Tremayne: Has been solid depth at WR, flashing at times last year.
