The GIANTS

Are a badass team right now, they were clicking on all cylinders. I don't think there are many teams that would have beat them last night, despite their injuries.

Not dismissing our terrible play, but they are champs for a reason. Eli is an elite QB and he can read coverages(something our guy needs to learn more). They didn't take one shot down field other than getting in between zones, but none like they did vs TB late.

We have a ways to go to even sniff that level. I won't say we played heartless, but one team definitely wanted it more and it wasn't us. Sure we can get better, and I believe we will, so no need to get the razor blades or neuses out.

Let's give them their props while we complain about our pathetic team.

Beason didn't even finish out the game with the rest of the troops.

I really want to blame Rivera, and coaching but after looking at how far back Nakamura was lined upped in that All-22 picture, that's a big time tell tell sign, that we're lacking talent on the defensive side of the ball. I mean seriously, if you have to line a guy 23 yards off the ball, that just tells me we don't have the talent.

Yes the Giants are the defending champions, and we knew it would be a difficult game to win. But, we feel like we are on the cusp, and would therefore have a good chance to win. We didn't just lose, we got dominated and embarrassed. We aren't even close to being a contender. We didn't learn anything new about how good they are, but more about how bad we really are.

the giants are the only team i can think of where it seems like their success is inversely proportional to the number of their usual starters that are playing.

the kiss of death was when all anybody could talk about was the giants' injuries and how they'd need a few nobodies to step up and how the panthers could take advantage of that. they've thrived under those circumstances like no other team.

    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix had only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
