The anti Rivera threads and the anti fanbase threads are funny to me because the Giants fans were ready to fire Coughlin less than a year ago.

i was thinking about the chronology of coughlin in NY this afternoon. he was supposed to have been fired so many times and that fanbase wanted his head on a stick prior to the 2007 season and at least a few times afterward.

also the tremendous consternation about whether eli manning was a real franchise quarterback, his first playoff game being a humiliating home shutout at the hands of some expansion team, the collapse in 2006 from 6-2 to 8-8 and the loss to the eagles in the playoffs, tiki barber shooting his mouth off, etc.

also mara publicly called out manning in 2007 and openly questioned whether they could win with him as their quarterback.
