The Official Nakamura Sucks D**k Thread...

Martin's weakness is being confused on certain coverages on shorter routes.

When we are trying to prevent the long ball, put Martin in and tell him to keep it all in front of him. There is no doubt in my mind that Martin would have been able to make a better play on that ball.

On that last drive, Norman was even coming over looking like he was about to swat the ball away but Nakamura was in his way. So not only did he not make the play himself but he prevented another guy from making the play... I've seen him do that a few times this year...seriously Martin might not be able to tackle to save his life but he's got to be better than Nakamura.

I believe Martin would have intercepted that pass, he blows coverages sometimes but in this situation I believe he would have made the play he has good ball skills.

As long as the Big Cat JR does not allow this front office to go out and pick up big name free agents and sign some guys that can actually play then this is the crap we are gonna be stuck with..........(I am in no way a Marty Hurney fan but I think his hands are tied) NAK SUXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite Nakamura play besides the long bomb at the end of the game was the long catch by Jones when he stepped out of bounds. On that play Nakamura decides that turning and running with Jones would be a bad idea and instead opts to back pedal while putting an arm out in front of Jones, which I assume was some retarded attempt to prevent him from running past him. Consequently Jones just ran right over Nakamura and made the catch while Nakamura was laying flat on his ass like a retard.

The one thing I notice about Nakamura every week is he seems to be getting run over in the open field time and again. When I saw that in preseason I figured they were just putting him out there to light a fire under Sherrod Martin but how he won the starting job much less is even in the NFL is rediculous. Besides from getting burned every game look at all the missed tackles, all the times he's been trucked in the open field with some RB running straight through him.

Id rather have Martin atleast he has some athleticism. Nakamura may be the most cerebral person in the NFL and excellent at putting people in position before the play but, that doesn't mean jack when you don't have the athleticism or ball skills to make a play. Guy whiffs multiple tackles and is horrible at playing the ball in the air. Give me Martin, he may be the equivelent to rocks in terms of his cerebral abilty to play the game but atleast he has the athleticism to almost compete.

You mean you didn't love the screen pass that Turner scored on, Naka who is the last line of defense was totally unblocked and just whiffed on the tackle.

Dude can't cover, can't tackle, but hey atleast he's a good communicator says our coaching staff, opposing teams literally have to be licking their chops when they watch game film and see this guy lined up in the defensive backfield.

He is by far the worst safety in the league. Safety better be addressed in the offseason. We cannot compete on defense with our free safety tripping over his own feet on deep throws. He has the worst ball adjustment skills of any secondary player I've seen all season. And he misses tackles on the reg.

    • Well even if we took diverging paths getting there...our overall assessment of Shough is the same (bolded) lol so I guess that's what matters.  What you call "playing at a level that looks like a veteran starter" is the same thing I'm referencing when I talk about his poise.  Although I still wonder how truly "bad" of a team the Saints are.  Their defense is middle-of-the-road, and their offense does have some good pieces (Olave, Juwan Johnson) outside of running back which is the position most everyone agrees is relatively plug-and-play.  I'm not going to pretend to know anything about the majority of NFL team's o-lines lol but I'm assuming Saints are not great there, although Shough's pressure % seems to have been quite low (and steadily improving) over the last four weeks (20 -> 16.7 -> 15.0 -> 13.0) so maybe they've been playing better as of late, or perhaps Shough himself deserves credit for that.   Some of the language I'm hearing about Shough, including talking about how he's way above league average in several categories, makes it sound like Shough is having a rookie season on par with like a CJ Stroud who established himself as basically a Top 5-10 QB his rookie season.  Maybe that's on me though, I don't mean to attribute anything to you that I'm sure you don't agree with.
    • Since your being selective (and somewhat deceptive) with your comparisons, I'll throw this up so we can compare apples to apples. Both Young and Shough have played against the Rams. Young went: 15/20 (75%) for 191 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs with a 147.1 QB rating Shough went: 15/24 (62.5%) for 176 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT with a 81.2 QB rating   Both Young and Shough have played against the Buccs. Young went: 21/32 (65%) for 206 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs with a 102.5 QB rating Shough went: 13/20 (65%) for 176 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT with a 65.4 QB rating   Both Young and Shough have played against the Falcons. Young went: 31/45 (75%) for 448 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs with a 123.2 rating Shough went: 30/43 (69.7%) for 243 yards, 0TD, 1 INT with a 74 QB rating   Seriously, in what world is Shough a better QB.
    • Freddie? For this game? Seriously? I don’t get it. Hope we get the best version of Freddie tonight.
