Marty Hurney is the worst GM in the game.

4 winning seasons since 1995. This franchise has been mediocre since the beginning. Hurney would not be employed by any other team right now and would've been fired years ago if he was on another team.

This is why I'm surprised we have fans predicting us to go 10-6 still! (Even though I really like the optimism)

If you know our recent history...we will definitely

-Get beat soundly by the Seahawks

-Go into the bye week claiming we're fortunate to have an early bye to make changes, become better, etc.

-Beat a team we're not supposed to (Maybe Cowboys?)

-Lose to a team we're not supposed to (Maybe Bucs again?)

-Go on a small win streak once our playoff hopes are dashed early

And what has the formula been? It seems this franchise likes to string some wins together late, hurt the draft selection, still no chance for post-season, and close with that "we're improving, just wait until next year when we build off this momentum!11!!!"

Though the pessimists and realists always bring stuff like this up, I have noticed more and more people coming around on this board lately. And by coming around, I don't mean a piss poor fan because none of us are. We love this team. But I think more and more people are finally understanding what the realists and pessimists have been saying for years now: This team is not nor ever has been elite (no back to back winning seasons, four winning seasons in 17 years), Hurney is not a very good GM, the coaching staff has never been that stellar, and JR is INDEED a part of the problem. I really think it'll take outrage by the majority to ever see change around here. And I think it's slowly taking shape.

Was discussing this very thing yesterday.

This board jumps all over the fan base (specifically PSL owners) who have a "Ho-Hum" attitude towards this team. We all blast the people who go to the games and sit there motionless, while we try to stir the crowd and get them loud. My theory is that these fans have sat through 17 years of this garbage and are just burnt out. They've seen the same thing over and over and have had the life sucked right out of them.

The newer fans (post 2003) view them as stagnant and bad fans, while the older fans probably view the new fans as foolish for how much of an investment they put into this product that only shows it's worth once every five years.

This team is bad on two level, Coaching and GM. After this season tanks I really hope Richardson reevaluates his plan. We have talented players but no one to put them together and because Jerry is not willing to give up any control we have bad coaching.
