I agree with most of what was said. Unfortunately, like most teams with un-organized talent, (I.E. The 1998 colts) The Carolina panthers haven't nailed down their moving parts. Keuchly is a Beast, He has potential through the roof. Beason is a monster, Frank alexander has amazing potential, and Norman is growing under pressure. I will not bash our coach because I am not Ron rivera, nor am I MCD. Although I would like to see the key leaders provide some actual leadership. I do believe I saw a maturation in the defense against seattle. All though seattle was not , and is not a offensive powerhouse, we played with a better sense of urgency. Now, concerning Cam Newton...... He has been rode-down and beat -up. I know that the Read-option is not a viable offense in the NFL, But I do know that we ran it with considerable success last year AFTER we established the run. We pulled the trick plays and Poo after we knocked the opposing defenses on their heels. I see everyone saying the same thing so at least I'm not the only one. I want to see some smash mouth football..... Knock the defensive line off the ball, run between the tackles, when the defense bunches up, option that sucker outside. When they spread out, smash their face again. And when they are beat down, THEN throw the deep ball. Non of this patsy 8-man bush league offense. Its time like these that I wish Brad Hoover wasn't gone. But overall, I believe the panthers are improving, not by leaps and bounds, but by inches. And, as we all know, football is a game of inches. Go Panthers.... I look forward to seeing a W when they finally send a tape of the game too me!!! Once again, Go Panthers!!!!!

This team has about an average sized talent pool overall. However, it also has positional weaknesses that are bad enough to be exploited to the point of losing games. It's an obvious indictment to the guy who's ignored fixing those weaknesses for years, and that isn't Rivera.

We aren't losing just because of players or just because of coaching. It's a mixture, and a deadly one at that.

Ron Rivera didn't skip the ball off the turf last week, or fumble on the 1 yard QB sneak the week before.

He did however let games come down to those two plays when we could have been in better shape earlier.

Listen guys. We are lacking major talent at 5 MAJOR positions.

OT, DT, DE, S, and CB.

These are big problem areas, and no amount of coaching is going to solve our lack of talent.

we do need an infusion of talent, but the good news is we have a nucleus of young and extremely talented players to build around. that's how you start rebuilding a franchise from the ground up.

now we just need to find the right guys to plug in.

We do have some young players with some talent, however I think that many forget just how old our "stars" really are.

Davis

Beason

Smith

Gross

Gamble

Williams

Olsen

None of those are spring chickens, and you can get ready to add Stew to that list. Hurney and Richardson have managed to squander the last 4 years here. And the NFL ain't kind to aging players.

The team is not as good as you think it is... even on paper. The D-line is not good, the DBs are not good, two of our LBs are coming off injury, we don't run it like we used to, the O-line is average, our WRs are average at best after Smitty. Not too sure what paper you've been reading, but it obviously was printed in Carolina blue ink.

That is pissing me off the most. That hesitation handoff poo. Do it sometimes but not on every damn handoff. DWill and JStew don't hit the hole like thet should. The one time last week against Seattle when Stew knew he was getting the ball he got 10 yards on the run.

it boils down to a lack of faith that cam has in the guys around him and wanting too much to put it all on his shoulders....and chud for not putting cam in his place and allowing him the option....and rivera for not putting chud in his place.

when cam tries to win it all on his own, this team is going to fail over and over because defenses know that he is going to do it. they don't have to pay attention to anyone else because they know all they have to do is focus on who cam is focusing on to win the game and against seattle it was just two people...cam and smitty.

the more cam can get the ball into the hands of other players...WRs or RBs....the more successful he will be when he does his thing and the more the team will be successful. he has to get the ball into the hands of the other guys that can make things happen and it isn't just him and smith. he's got to take the pressure off himself or he's not going to make it and neither will this team.

Seriously???

Gross has been and continues to be one of the best LT's in the game. This isn't wishful thinking there are numerous statistics to back this up and that he is constantly under appreciated on this site is crazy. He is also dependable, having only missed games 9 games from 149. Opposite him, Bell has been a revelation and is one of the best pass blocker RTs this season. He lacks the Otah immensity in the running game, but he is a much more reliable and complete OT than Jeff ever was. He very much is starting quality if he continues to play like this.

DE. I guess you could have an argument, but CJ is also up there year after year with the best in the league with the pressure he brings per pass rushing play. His run play has been below average this year, but I fully expect him to pick that up as he has usually been very sound against hte run. Talk about the lack of sacks, but this guy brings a heck of a lot of pressure that no one realises. Now opposite him you have Alexander and Hardy who have 5 sacks, 4 hits and 19 hurries between them That is more than enough to keep opposing QBs busy considering how CJ is doing.

These two positions aren't weaknesses and have actually been areas of strength this year... The guys involved are all young bar Gross and he has been about as reliable injury wise as you could hope.

So we have a LT who is amongst the best, a pass rushing DE who is amongst the best and a group of young players who are playing really well. I just don't get how you see that as lacking major talent. CB, S sure, DT definitely, but no thte other two positions.

I am not downing Gross, not at all. But he is aging, and at some point we will have to replace him. Unless you are cool putting a rookie in the LT spot (and I'm not a big proponent of this) then we need some help there. He is a stud, much like Gamble, but what if either of them go down? They are both up there in age.

As for Bell, he has been OK. I think that an upgrade would help at that position. The RT needs to be your road grader, and that ain't his game.

CJ is fine, no complaints there, but we do need to strengthen that position. We cannot continue to hope that late round picks are good enough at the DE position and can come in and contribute as rookies. I am excited about what I see in Alexander, but I am of the thought that you can't ever have too much pass rush.

As you stated, CB, DT, and S are major concerns. The T and DE are not as much, but are extremely important and we need to be addressing them.

this is very close to my sentiments

However, I think Bell is better than you let on though. Getting both a T & G is important...just depends on what becomes available. We need talent anywhere possible minus RB and that's about it.

My panthers have been an absolute let down this year. I attended the NO game last year and even though we lost I left with excitement that this year would be our best. Our running game is WEAK!!!!, still don't understand why Smith (#36) isn't in the game yet. Williams appears to have played out, but fortunately for him he has a contract that say he get paid regardless of performance.

Stewart has heart, but i don't think he is 100% I think Cam gives too much attention to Smitty and miss opportunities to get the ball down field to others who are open. I don't know all the calls, but I can recognize ineffective coaching. So again we talk draft

I still support but getting fed up with buying tickets to see opposing team leave with the Win.
