Beason's knee "flared up" this week; Onatolu to IR

Per Reed and Person via Rotoworld:

Panthers MLB Jon Beason was held out of Wednesday's practice after his knee "flared up" Monday.

Beason was expected to return following the Panthers' Week 6 after sitting out in Week 5, but the smart money is now on first-round pick Luke Kuechly getting another start in the middle. Beason's grip on his starting job is almost certainly loosening.

Panthers placed LB Kenny Onatolu on injured reserve with a torn triceps, ending his season.

CB Ron Parker was promoted from the practice squad to take his roster spot. A special teams ace, Onatolu had five tackles in four games this season. He's signed through 2014.

love how we never fail to get the injury bug to our star players. Never see the saints and having breesus or colston hurt, never see the falcons having roddy white hurt or abraham. smfh. why nfl gods?!

it was even more magical than that with abraham. he had a bunch of repeated injury problems with the jets until he went to the falcons who apparently have healing properties as well.

    • I knew very little about this player before we drafted him. When I read scouting reports about him I understood the pick and thought it made sense as a late round receiver with speed and special teams ability but after watching him more closely and now adding his interviews into the equation I'm actually really excited about him. I know it's just RMC but I noticed him running his routes with this extra step that really stood out to me during the general video posted earlier without realizing who it was doing that.  His speed in his first cut is just on another level and it's visible. When I saw it I was **** whoa, who was that?! Then I saw Horn JR. and my first thought was oh it's him. I think it's very possible that he was under appreciated going into the draft due to his height and stats because he played at Colorado where the attention was on 2 other players but I think this dude's ceiling is way higher than most think it is. Especially after watching his interview. He looks hungry. I may have found my fav rook for this year's pre-season. I like pulling for underdogs anyway and as someone who played on the small side myself it just gives me more reason to cheer for him. The competition at WR looks like it's going to be fierce this season. I honestly can remember any preseason where I looked at out wr group and got past 3 players who I thought were interesting but this season I'm interested in at least 5 who have my attention going into the season.
    • Wilson should be getting called for at least 3 penalties a night even in the post season. How does he not lead the NHL in PM???
