what are we getting for him, a 4th rounder?

Tops, why would anyone give up anything good for an overpaid old RB that has done absoluty nothing this year? And if nothing else I doubt that any team has the cap to fit his contract under this season.

Unless of course we make on NBA-switch and get an underachieving veteran with a similair contract. But I cannot recall ever seeing that in the NFL.

I was in the press room yesterday during the Rivera conference, just observing. It was a good example of why the reporting in Charlotte sucks. One guy did ask, hey why did Deangelo play only 2 downs? Rivera said a "personnel decision". NO follow up at all. How about "Interesting, what exactly do you mean? What personell? How is it lacking for Deangelo? "

I thought the plan for the coaching staff was to design an offense to use the weapons we have? not force everyone in to the zone read and waste their talent in the mean time. this team needs balance not just in run/pass but in the formations we run the zone read so much its useless and when we do go single back its one and done. the offensive line never gets a rhythm watching these panthers play almost makes me miss Dan Henning.

i have come to the conclusion that the only weapon the coahing staff sees is cam newton...and despite what some choose to believe or not believe, he has an issue with playing under center. people keep mentioning him doing it last season, but last season is gone. maybe with all the excitement of the "new era", we as viewers missed something. it's the only logical reason to stubbornly stick with the heavy shotgun formations and zone reads plays...
